Newest trick to watch out for if you use Spur 408/Loop 12
I'm doing 72 going north on Loop 12 just starting to go up the long "hill climb" to the Keeneland Pkwy exit when I get passed by a slammed VW at a massive amount of speed. Then a met gray Mustang came next in the back mirror roasting the road and using the right lane for passing. Now, I was approaching a group of cars doing 65 mph as this all happened. One of the group in front was this shiny, brand new Ford. As I came up to it, the turn blinkers went on and the shiny new Ford started to go to the far right lane when that Mustang came blowing by and they almost collided. The Ford retreated back to the center lane in front of me, the Mustang kept flying and then the shiny new Ford really picked up its pace to "get even" with the Mustang...or so I thought.
I followed along at 85 mph behind it and we almost immediately caught the two in traffic starting to pile up as you get closer to the I-30 interchange area. The VW was exiting where I was going to leave, for Jefferson street....the Mustang? He's still heading north and then the shiny new Ford pulls its trick.
The stupid thing was a hopped up FORD FUSION, jet black, with freakin' clear corner taillights and it's a cop car. The lights start flashing, the siren goes off and there's a blue/red light bar in the rear window flashing all crazy as he pulled the Mustang over in that exit area right before you hit the exit for the I-30 curves. I died laughing.
Watch out for this car if you're on Loop 12. First time I've ever seen a Cally-style traffic stop for speeding where they pace before they hit the lights. Radar was not involved at all.
'Course, it could've been a narco cop heading to work and the almost collision just enraged him to action. I know he was hacked that the VW and I exited Jefferson and he had to choose his speeding target.
