Hello all! Im new to the forum from Texas but living in Anchorage. Just bought an FD out of Louisian and it is NOT coming up to Ak with me. I noticed that someone on here is from Quinlan... I went to high school with who ever you are; at least we are the same age. Next week I will have plenty of pictures up of the car. The only thing I have so far are the photobucket pictures.

AJ, you know I love FD's... It just took me a while to find one close to home that I really liked and has the potential for what I want. You know how me and my dad are... We live turbos!

The car is coming from LA but staying in the DFW metroples. Im trying to come down soon but scheduling is tough with the wife and different training/TDY's. We were shooting for early Dec but I think its going to be more like the first two weeks of January. Im driving out to the Shreveport area to meet the seller since Im not actually going to be there to pic it up. Ill probably post up and maybe we can find a happy median for all us to meet up. Could be a good start of the new year!

If you're coming in around the 1st of January, the DFW RX7 club meets every first Saturday of the month out in Irving. If you're able we should cruise out. I kinda hate you too, lol. Chast White is my 2nd favorite next to SSM/Red, lucky bastered.

If ya need help with it or anything lemme know or have your dad get in touch with me, FDs aren't my strong suit but I know enough about em to be dangerous lol.

 

Hey AJ. Have you heard anything new about RX8's?

 

Actually yea, just heard about it last night. It was the fuel pump and it was killed by the gas guage. Apparently when the gauge read 1/4 tank it really meant running on fumes and it eventually burnt up the pump. We could still hear it kick on, it just wasn't doing anything. Supposed to get it back today.

 

Sounds like the sending unit or gauge should be replaced as well. My curiosity feels much better now.

 

$635 for the pump installed at the dealer, another $300+ for the sending unit. He's not gonna do the sending unit, lol.

Unfortunately all his tools are still in Indiana so he didn't have much choice. Dealers suck something fierce.
