There are lots of Rx7's in the area. But as far as smog goes its a bit strict. Not as strict as california though. I have my car registered in Wisconsin so I don't have to worry about it though. There is a drag strip in Temple/little river. Otherwise I am not too sure about road courses.

Here's a map of TX emissions testing... unfortunately, you won't get out of emissions unless you move further north up around Temple or Belton. http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/vi/index.htm . They also have some FAQs on testing in Texas.

.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ...
*See (www.TexasRxs.ORG) for local club activities. Events 4/10 & 4/25; Meet 4/27.
*Travis County requires Emission & Safety mins; Muffin Mufflers/Austin can weld or flange install a single hi-flow low-emission cat very reasonably.
*See (www.HarrisHill.com) in San Marcos for open track days; very nice facillity.
LD.

Welcome to Wilco, there are ways to get around the emmissions but you'd need to figure that out on your own.

As for driving, there are many beautiful places to cruise around here. Heading west is what most people do, but there are other places in the other directions. There is supposed to be a new track opening in Jarrell, but I think that's on hold. Really there isn't much, which is why I think so many people are inconsiderate on the road, no where else to vent.

yeah i figured as much...back in cali i was a bit of a punk street rat and paid the price one day. now i have a smarter head on my shoulders and just want something to enjoy the road and sights, smash on track and daily drive lol Harris Hills looks like a awesome track, easy yet technical but its really pricey. :[ wish everything out here was like in japan 50 bucks (usd) for a good 4 hrs! lol
