The next SCCA roadrally will be held in September. The DFW Map Rally, presented by Mapsco, will run on Saturday, September 6th. The flyer can be seen at www.texasscca.org/dmr08flyer.pdf

This rally will be a bit different from the usual fun run. You will be given a special map, prepared for us by Mapsco, and some rules. Using those rules, you will determine your own route, and write your own route instructions. Then you will drive that route.

We had multi-car teams from Subaru, Crossfire, Italian Car Club, Minis, Honda S2000, and RX-8s last week. We need some RX-7s!

No, it's not a race. The faster you go, the worse you score. It's a drive through suburbia at legal speeds, looking for certain roads, and certain signs, and the one who does the best job of solving the puzzles gets the trophy. It's both legal and sanctioned. And a lot of us think it's fun!

If a drive in the country at higher speeds (but still legal) is more to your liking, come to next month's Roads of Texas Rally. Or for a different rush, come to the Night Rally in November.
