Need help in Longview, Texas...
Hey folks,
I'm trying to get my 82 started. It ran in november, but sat up for a bit. I tried starting it last month, and was not able to get it started. Used fresh gas, tried using gas down the carb, but no go. Engine turns very strong, nothing was done to it since it last ran. I'm trying to get this started so I can drive it to a mechanic to do some work on it. If anyone is willing to come out, PM me.

im not from longview, but i could drive over there and try and help. im from the tyler area, so the drive isnt that bad.
what all have you tried to do? i know that when mine sits for too long, it will take forever to start, and when it does, it smokes like a train.
im free for whatever on monday and tuesday, but thats the only time i could do it.

Well, I put a new battery on it, but that battery is bad and started leaking So I've got to find a way to go get it exchanged. Other than that, I put fresh gas into the empty tank, let the fuel pump run for a bit, pumped the gas, and tried cranking it. It turns over very strong, but won't start. So, I poured a little gas down the primaries, it almost started, but went back to turning over. And then after a bit, it acted like it was flooded. I don't have OMP lines on it, I was going to replace them so I've got a tad bit of 2stroke in the tank. I've checked all the ignition connections, everythings good. Probably needs new spark plugs, but other than that...I honestly have no idea.
Also, you might be able to tell me wether my front cover is leaking or not Since I can't tell for the life of me if it is, or not. lol
I appreciate that. PM me.
