TX mzm international

how good are they?
i finally got ahold of the previous owner of my fd, and he said this is who he took it to. I called and they said they put the 99 spec turbos on, as well as the catless DP, and the rest of the exhuast, and switched some of the hoses to silicone.

any opinions?

I think that they are a professional shop and have a good level of experience with several 3rd gens in the Austin area. I guess I don't know why you would come all the way to Austin for service, assuming that you are (as your sig would imply) in Huskervile NE.

MZM is a great shop. They know how to put a FD together and keep it together. They have worked on every RX7 i have owned and just about every other car i have owned for that matter.

It looks like they only did some of the basic upgrades...you should take it to them and let them make your car a realiable beast I know it's a long way from where you are...it would be worth the trip...

You can find a lot better places to have work done than MZM, they're barely competent enough to change oil.

My earlier post is more relevant to "worth the trip". Although I'm not sure how many are still in business, there used to be 3-4 shops not only more competent, but with better results and more experience in the D/FW area.

I have now owned 12 RX7's...7 of them being FD's. I have used shops in San Antonio, Austin and DFW. In my experience there is no comparison in the quality of work done by MZM. They are hands down the best!!!!!!

Thumbs up

I will vouch for MZM any day of the week. They are very knowledgeable, have a nice/clean shop, good communication with customers, and always have had my car done by the date they promised.

They built the engine in my car, did the non-seq conversion, new silicone hoses, tuned the Power FC, and it's been running FLAWLESS for 4yrs now. ...even got the AC to work perfect with the PFC

MZM is so great that they had to take the red R1 they used to have to Steve to tune because they kept blowing it up...

BDC for ported engines.
Do everything else yourself. Its not hard.

I take my car to Gotham...I've always has a great experience, but I've been doing more and more things myself. If it's out of my capabilities though I'll take it to Gotham...not saying anything bad about RP at all, just relaying my experiences.

We're going up Friday, and will probably stay over the night of the event so we come home rested on Sunday... that may change, though. Either way the big wagon is planning on at least one overnight. I can check and see if anybody's coming up Saturday, but as its a ~5 hour drive it'd be an earrrrrrrrrly morning.
