We are going to try and get a monthly meet started. I have been meeting with the rx8 crews for awhile but since I have gone to the FD, I would like to be more involved in the rotary scene as a whole.

Date: 2nd Sunday of the month
Time: 6:00 pm
Place: Compadres Mexican Grill (71st & Sheridan)

This sunday will be the first full meet. Hope to meet some new people and maybe gain some knowledge.

 

I have also created a facebook page to help with organizing local rotary events. The page is
"NEORx Club" (NorthEastern Oklahoma Rx Club) Just incase anyone is interested.

 

Is this a rotary only deal?

 

Nope. Everyone is welcome. I think a speed 3 guy is coming and some have traded off there 8's.

Would like to get a head count to warn compared tho. Lol

I'll definitely post up whenever we plan something. The group is mainly rx8's right now. Should have my FD on the road in Feb. Then I'll be able to plan some cruises and such.

 

I saw an ugly flat-grey/silver one the other day.. is that yours?
Hopefully not, this one looked like someone hit it with a 'Fast & Furious' stick a few times.

 

Here is a pic of my old Rx8 that I totaled in November. I had spent 5 yrs building her. She was suppossed to get new paint in Jan for Starbird. So now I'm building an FD to replace her.

 

..so thats a 'no'? you dont own a junky silver/gray FD?

 

Sorry I thought you meant silver/gray Rx8. I'm about to start a build thread for the FD. It's off for engine bay paint this week. She is currently vintage red, but she's going to be JetStream blue metallic from 2011 Zr1 eventually.

 

I got a buddy who has a vr R1 ...its in awful shape but he seems happy with it.
half-bridge port single turbo thing.. i think its got one of my aem ecu's on it too.

seems OK is starting to get a few more fd's.

 

I miss the old days. I used to roll the streets of tulsa on a regular basis with 3 other FDs.

How was the meet?

 

It was a small one. We had about 10 people. We talked about moving it to a sat night to allow more people to come. It's a start. Would like to get enough interest to try and setup a big event. Maybe a rotary weekend in Eureka or something. We also discussed doing a rotary toys for tots run in the fall.

I'm in process of setting up a NEORx webpage for us to trying and organize some stuff. It should be up soon.

 

I'm that speed 3 guy! I'm trying to get more to come with me.. Sadly, our numbers are pathetic in Tulsa.

 

I would love to attend/help organize a big event but I really wanna be able to have my car there. So as soon as I get it lined out, I'll be much more active in this regional section. FWIW I'm glad there is someone trying to rally the people. I'm looking forward to meeting you guys.

 

As long as I don't have my kids I should be able to make some of the Saturday ones and I could deffinatly do some of the events. It would just be a long drive for me

 

once the seven is finished i will be attending. im a hour away from tulsa there every week or so!

This months meet is being pushed back a week to the 18th. Everybody had something else going on. Just a heads up in case anyone was planning on heading out.
