Lil help please..

I bought a car and the seat was ghettofied already... well a couple of months later the seat completely broke. The dealership decided to screw me since the guy that told me they would fix it no longer works there. so I need to know if anyone has any ideas (other than junk yard or expensive dealerships) where i can get my seat either welded or replaced. Im not looking to spend a whole lot, but since my accident my back is messed up and driving around with my seat laying completely back it is making my back situation worse. so please let me know asap if you have any ideas...

its a chevy caviler...

Thank you.

If it's leather you can take it to any upholstery shop and they'll fix it(for a price of course).

When I had my 10th anny, I took it to a guy and he replaced a lot of the leather and re-stiched it on both of my seats. IIRC mine was about 150-200 dollars with labor and material and he did a really good job. It usually takes a couple of days.

I don't know what the story would be if you had cloth. Perhaps they can do the same. It might be easier to just go to a junkyard and find the same seat in condition, buy it, and swap it out.

Of course, you can always buy racing seats. But they typically require a little bit of fabrication. And in a Cavalier it might look kind of funny.

Still a cheaper alternative is to just buy a fancy seat cover.

Just do some looking around on the net for seat covers and Chevy Cavalier. There has to be plenty of them out there.

I think your best option would be to just replace the seat entirely. You'd get new padding/foam and a new seat. Just go to a junkyard, call around to see who's got one and then go get it.

lol, unfortunetly its not something duct tape or seat covers can fix... my fat booty snapped it in half and it is only connected on one side, it stabs me everytime i get out of my car.. super ghetto! its not leather either... i was straying away from the junk yard because i didnt want a smelly mildeweey seat so im kinda stuck.. i dont even know if welding it is going to work because the metal that was holding it together is very thin... i dunno im all confused...

thank you though.

Wait, is the seat broke? (IE: it is always reclined all the way back, and will not sit up right) or is the seat torn? (Riped upholstery, torn side bolster ect..)

If it's broke, your best bet is to get a new seat or seat rack from a junk yard or new from chevy. My 240sx did the same thing, the recline part on the seat broke and wouldn't incline at all, would always sit in the reclined fixed position. So i went to a junk yard and got a new seat. I cleaned it up nice though, shampoo'd that sucker and put new seat covers on it. I got the seat covers online...don't remember the link but I got the link from David Marvel, He used them when he replaced his seats in his RX-7.

And like is said, if it's ripped upholstery you can get seat covers or just use a lot of tape!

good luck.
