Thought about it but I don't think it's worth it especially if it's anything like Texas Heat Wave

TX heat wave is a car/truck show, Import Face-Off is a RACE

Nelson Diaz, one of the points leaders, is coming down from Kansas in his 10.0 sec RX3.

Sorry to those who came out, but the event had to be canceled last minute not just because of the 30 degree weather, but because of the 40 mph cross winds. The conditions were too dangerous for racers and too harsh for spectators and car show contestants. Nothing could be set up... dj equipment, boxing ring, vendor tents, etc. Even the steel barrels used to tape off the car show area were being blown away. Unfortunately, the only way to let people know about the last minute cancellation was through the IFO phone line and with a sign at the front gate, both were done.

LOL...30 degree weather?! The low for the entire day way 38 degrees and that was not anywhere near showtime. The average temp for the day was recorded at 50 degrees with an actual high of 60 according to Weather Undergrounds' official Almanac. Also your "40 mph crosswind" was actual only a sustained wind of 13 (thirteen) mph with a max wind speed of 24 mph.

The show should have went on IMO. Somebody with IFO or the SAR made a bad decision.

Is the event going to be rescheduled? If it goes down after the beginning of the year i will bring the RX-3 out.

And bigdv519, if you have ever hit a 24 MPH crosswind at 140 MPH then you would know why the event was canceled. I am sorry that you wasted a trip but i personally wouldn't risk my life for your entertainment.

Sorry, I wasn't there for entertainment. I actually drove the 200+ miles just to support the event. If I can't drag race my 7, which I don't have running right now, I was still going to drag race my daily in open class or the faster bracket. I was even up for the burnout contest, just to make it slightly more exciting for that young kid looking for a smiggin of inspiration. I support the events. I'm not saying it wouldn't have been dangerous, I just wish the whole damn thing wasn't canceled with 30 minutes notice. I guess I take it different since I travel as much as possible to support the events. I do as much as I think I can to support most any import events within 300 miles. Sorry if I come off as being sour. Give me a day or two and I'll feel just peachy. At least seaworld was cool. .

I'l be at the Houston event though.

Edit: I wanna make sure I'm clear. The WHOLE event should not have been canceled, out of respect to the people that constantly travel from everwhere to be at these events. The drag racing could have been canceled or shortened to 1/8th mile, and the show (read car show portion) could have went on. Sometime. Anything. But not nothing...
