LA i need help, barksdlae afb, la 71110

my 1988 vert has a n/a in it and im having some issues keeping it running, about a month ago i was on my way to work, and i beleived the fuel ran out but i was able to start it and get it to a gas station and i knew my alternator wen out, so i have a new battery and alternator on the car. now the problem im having is that at a idle it purrs like a kitten but when driving down the road ever light on the center column where our warning lights are flickers, and when the car dies they stay on , also my voltage is fluctuating from 12 to 14 v. what could be the problem im lose

Check main grounding on the car as well as the ring terminal connector on the wire going to the hot output on the alternator.
