Anyone recommend a good state inspection place in the northwest/galleria/290 area?
After driving around all day no one wanted to put my car on the rollers....
If anyone can recommend a place let me know.

 

will your car pass? if so i know a couple places alot of places dont have those types of machines anymore theyre to expensive and break all the time

 

Contact the Houston main DFPS office, they supposedly do inspections.
If your car fails and takes over about $100 to fix, you get a 1 year waiver until next years testing.
That can be easily done with new platinum plugs and wires.

One good point about if you fail, tell them the truth! The car was not imported after 1995, went out of rest of the world model production in 2002, and many parts are costly or hard to find.

What wrong with asking for a PPI?

 

Because that is illegal and shouldn't be discussed in a public forum.

 

Plus there could be an undercover HPD officer/detective and they bust people for **** like that.

 

Seen it done before, cops will ask where to get hot inspections, happy ending massage places, etc etc

Beside, I even know of companies doing PPIs for a living, I find it weird that it is illegal...

 

Yup, those places have to be licensed to do state inspections.
If they get caught doing illegal inspections im pretty sure they could lose the license and be fined.

 

If you're still looking, these guys still do OBD-1 inspections and their machines are not always broken as you seem to see everywhere else. Call in advance to make sure they'll fit your needs and timing but supposed to be a great shop:
