Hello from Houston!
Congrats on the car and welcome to the board. I use to live in Houston about 5 years ago...can't say I really cared for for anything besides the import scene, but maybe that's just because I was in Greenspoint. On the plus note I was probably the only person in my area with Roadrunner cable. 6.8 dl and 2.4 up speeds.
Thanks! I just finished the install and started it for the first time this past Tuesday. It's having an issue with the coolant temp sender(?) the little one that's on one of the plates, not the one on the back of the water pump... So it's not quite running right yet, but it is running!
Right now it's pulling about 14 in-Hg at 1000 rpm. I think that's good for a fresh rebuild using 2 piece 3mm ceramics?
Spidey, right now I'm in the south Heights area but I'm moving down to Pearland in about 3 months to be closer to work. Where are you? It'd be nice to get together and meet some other 7 drivers after I get the bugs worked-out.

There are practically no RX-7 drivers in my area lol. Everyone is from other parts of Houston. Your FD looks great man. You have anything special planned or is your 7 gonna be a daily driver?
Thanks everyone for the positive welcome to the community!
Here's the update: I did get lucky and all the plates/housings/rotors were re-useable and measured within spec. This was a 3mm conversion, so I went with NRS 3mm 2-piece and their ceremet tipped springs.
I plan to build a car-puter in the future, but right now I'm working to build a functioning LabVIEW DAQ system for monitoring during tuning that'll run on an old PII laptop that I have laying around.
I've added thermocouple bungs to both front and rear header outlets as well as to the DP, post turbo (hoping to answer the age old question "How much heat is lost by measuring after the turbo?") and WB bungs, and a couple of extra 1/8" NPT ports for measuring DP in the future.
All going as planned I'll have a basic DAQ running and the car should be tuned this Saturday.
