Flood season has officially arrived in Houston.

Hey folks. You might remember me from the infamous Hurricane Rita evacuation thread.

Well, I have a few pictures here from earlier this morning. Not too much good news. I was woken up around 2-3 am, from very loud thunder. A little later, very hard rain, and much more thunder. We lost power around 4 am. I then went to go check on things outside around 5 am, and found the entire neighborhood under about 17" of water. Here are some pictures.

Here are a couple more. Unfortunatley, the IROC-Z took alot of water, before we could do anything. These pictures are after the water had resided a couple of inches.

And now, the RX-7. Unfortunatley this time I wasn't able to do much to stop the water. I was really caught off gaurd. These pictures are after I had already put 6" blocks under the tires.

The little CRX took alot of water also, but it doesn't have much of an interior. The RX-7 seats inside the CRX were soaked. The ECU of the CRX was also under water.

The RX-7 didn't take it so bad, but still had plenty of water inside. The floor had about 4 inches of water. My RTEK ECU was also partially submerged.

The 7 is a little wet on the inside, and the carpet is going to stink, but it's ok. I have a vacuum and a brush. The IROC took a bad hit. The interior was filled up prettty high. Looks like another project soon.

Here are a couple more pics from down the street.

During tropical storm Allison (2001) we had right about the same amount of water, but the water rose over a period of about 5 hours, and it was in the afternoon. During Hurricane Rita (2005), our neighbors told us that the water never rose over 5 inches. The local news station reported that in 75 minutes, ~5.5 inches of rain fell.

My brothers home, next door, was the worse. We awoke him at ~4:35 am, and he found his home had about 8 inches of water in it. Thats 8" of water, in the big screen, in the drawers, in the shelves, in the appliances, and everywhere.

1-0, mother nature leads.

it's been raining here since last night around 9pm. Most of everywhere is closed today due to flooding. Don't have any pics but assume it's about as bad as those pics.

I have a little extra water in my pool, and we had to take the day off due to the fact that you can't paint home exteriors in the rain. I hope my spec RX-7 project car is ok, it is sitting in a backyard down near Pearland. I was supposed to get it today, but wasn't sure if I could get to it.

hondahater: Where exactly are you located???

Scott: I hope you project favored as well as my other project. It sits much closer to the ship channel, and was on fairly high ground: no damage.

EDIT:

Mother Nature: Your really starting to **** me off.
