TX Driver's Edge HPDE Event Nov 3-4 - MSR Houston

Anyone interested in attending? According to website there are plenty of spots open in the Green (noob) and Red (advanced) groups. I've signed up for the green class and this will be my first event

Details:
$295 + Helmet fee for novice
November 3-4, 2012 - Two full day event

All street legal cars with reasonably good tires are welcome.

More information on the school and event can be found here:
https://www.thedriversedge.net/index.html

Hope to see some of the Houston group out there!

Stephen

Great -- do you drive an RX7? If so, what year, etc? Will be glad to meet up with another rotary.

Hey Norm, that's right this is Stephen. Not every day I see another clean red FD (in fact I just commented this morning that it has probably happened six times in my life)! For the record I saw your car just outside your apartment complex, didn't follow you for 90 miles or anything, haha

Let me know if you sign up! Even with that run of the mill LS2 it would be awesome running around with another super clean VR FD!

Not sure if anyone else has snuck in for the green group but it looks like there *may* be a few openings left!

Just signed up this morning. I've done a few LeMons events but have never had any sort of on track instruction. This event should be helpful and fun. See you guys there!

Nah, not gonna be in the FC this time. I'm not sure if I'll ever want to put that car on a track. I'll be taking the Golf for this outing.

I'll be in the Green group. I'm a newb. Should be a great event, looking forward to it!

Awwhhh, they put me on standby. There are still openings for the Green and Red groups but I guess I "qualify" for the Blue or Yellow group. I assumed since I had never run with them before then they would put me in the Green group. Oh well, I'll go to the event regardless and just hang out if I don't get to run.

Should be fine as long as no one tries to PIT maneuver me off the track. lol! On that note, how's your shoulder? And arm? And head?

Ahh, the burden of exceptionalism -- keep me posted!

Should I put painter's tape all over my front bumper to run this track? Just add 10x layers of wax beforehand? If you recall I'm the guy with the brand new red paintjob.

Head is still screwed up (a little more than before) and I'm having MRI's this week. They checked out my brain yesterday and working on the arm tomorrow. Hope to get some results next week!

MSR is a clean track. Look, the car is barely scratched from last weekend.

Yikes, did this happen at MSR -- post up the story if its not already on here.

But seriously, what is the condition of the track re: fresh paint at an HPDE event?

MSR is fine, Scott was "helped" off the track by another driver.....at ~70-80 mph. He then decided to go all out and roll the car over 4 or 5 times.

You could throw some extra wax and tape on the car but the risk is always there when you're racing. It'd be real hard for you to go uncontrollably off-track at MSR but accidents happen.

Now I see why they require a rollcage, it saved ur a$$.
Sorry about the injurys and the car, get better soon and come back harder!

6.3: Why Am I Upside-Down? Rule: You're upside-down because you have no business being out on a racetrack. Any driver who puts a car on its roof is out for the rest of the season, beginning immediately. Any car that rolls during a race will be removed from the race.

I'm out until January 1 next year.

LeMons HQ went one step beyond and disqualified the RX2 from any future LeMons competition.
