I'll be running. I hadn't checked the weather, it does look cooler but rain is 40/30/20 for Fri/Sat/Sun, hopefully we stay dry.

Yep EP, the other car is still a roller, but it has paint! I've got to get more seat time on slicks.

I don't have rains so I sure hope it holds. Mark are you going to be in the garage area?

Nope. Plans are to get a spot half way down the fence by the tunnel (doing test day), I'm pitting with a CSR and FB, we'll have tents. This is a spectator event for me so we'll be grilling out on Saturday. Stop by and have lunch or at least grab a Gatorade. You in a garage Paul?

Edit: Rain is now 40/40/40 - I hate racing in the rain

I'll be in the middle with the Fiat/Alfa contingent. I've got an enclosed trailer and a tent as well. I'll come find you on Saturday.

I'll bring my gear and run in the rain for you, Mark. No charge.

The only way TMS is half entertaining is in the rain!

I'm assuming the first gen is Harry? If I make it up I'll have to come by and give him some **** about being DFL in a Miata at MSRH, too.

I see the confusion now, the "FB" I meant is some SCCA class for a Formula Pro Mazda. However, Harry should be at TMS as my CSR buddy is renting Harry's SRX7 for Sat. so Harry can run Sun. and my buddy can run 2 groups on Sat. I didn't know about the DFL, he says his SRX7 is slow but the Miata he rented as well, hmmm...BTW it's not going to rain, it can't, it won't happen, as great as it is, I'll have to pass on the offer.

Ohhh.... yeah, Formula 1000 I think. Those things are sweet... some dudes in Dallas brought one of the Stohr cars for it to the May TWS race and I had to change underpants every time I saw it. Mini-F1 car for $60k-- not bad.

I think it's a little late to rent a car.

Do you have an SCCA regional or national license (it's a requirement)?

Do you have a logbook for your race car? - Does your car meet GCR requirements?

If you want to do real racing, you'll need to be able to answer yes to these questions. Otherwise, HPDE days are a better route to go. What kind of car do you have and what's done to it?

You can still come and check things out, even if you are not racing it's fun to watch and see the different cars up close. Everyone's pretty welcoming out there.

I've got cars to rent, but like Mark said it's a little late... I've got meetings this weekend (won't be making it up there, after all), but usually just a few days' notice is enough.

Did you complete your 2 novice races and get a regional license? Or would you use these races to get your novice book signed off on. I forget exactly but I believe you have one year to get this done after you have a novice permit, btw you have to apply for the novice permit. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If you have a novice permit I could put you in touch with someone who still possibly has cars to rent.

Good luck tomorow Mark....keep the shiney side up. I'll be there after work to stake my spot.

You need the right safety equipment to get a log book. What kind of car do you have? What is done to it? What class is it built for? I know the TX area tech inspector, aka the guy who would issue you a log book. I wouldn't say he was a ***** but probably just doing his job and looking out for yours and everyone else's safety. He doesn't make the rules, just enforces them.

Off to the track!!!!
