DFW RX-7/RX-8 Club November Meet

DFW RX-7/RX-8 Club November Meet

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our next monthly meet will be Saturday, November 5 at 8pm. We meet in the parking lot next to Cheddars at the intersection of I-635 and MacArthur in Irving. A usual, all cars are welcome.

Let's try to make this a really big turn-out. With Hot Import Nights in August, MSR Track Day in September, the BBQ and confusion in October, we haven't had a decent meet since July!! AND, our honorary DFW RX-8 member should be there in all her glory.

See ya'll there!!

(Sticky me please!)

Ill be there!

I just rediscovered the RX-7 and am very much looking forward to meeting some owners. I hope to get one by March.

5 years ago I was in high school and used to take my dad's '99 mustang GT out street racing (Austin). I used to burn all kinds of rice like civics and preludes and junk. Then an rx7 bent me over. My friend that was in the car with me explained how the rx7 was super light for its hp etc. A couple days later, I just sorta forgot about them. Went to college (in Denton) and didnt have access to a fast car and no fast car scenes were nearby. Just dropped out of it all together.

Fast forward 5 years.. through college and into the real world. My junked out car needs to be replaced soon and I started doing all my new research again. I used to be all american muscle. Then the 350z broadened my horizons (although some would say it is american muscle). And the 350z reminded me of the RX-8 as a comparable car.

And then, I was suddenly reminded of that time back in high school when I got pwned by an RX-7.

That said, I am looking forward to Nov 5!

My uncle is a specialty dealer and he is going to find a black 95 rx7 in good shape for me. Maybe as soon as 2 weeks... maybe longer. Very excited though.

The meet had a good turnout. The Silvia was pretty cool as well as the turbocharged MP5. It was good to see all the regulars as well as meeting the new rotorheads.

I was one of the new rotorheads . For those I didn't talk to, I had the champagne 2nd gen w/ the glass sunroof.

Edit: That silvia was sweet.

Hahaha, the kick-start Clint had to do was indeed humorous. Don't forget Steve's truck stalling too.

There were a lot of RX-8's, but they had left by the time I got this "row shot" of FBs and FCs. They came in a pack and they left in a pack.....The champagne car mentioned above is the one next to me, I believe, and the S5 transplant terror of Sam's is just past the extremely super clean white 2ndgen...

Engine bay shot of the transplant terror FB from the OK meet...

Frankenrex's Olds 307 actually cranked up quicker...lol....and I felt sorry for the guy that was standing next to Steve's truck when he cranked it up again. At least he didn't have to worry about any mosquitos for the rest of the night...

Oh man, just when I'm getting my GSL-SE ready to head to the dyno with the new engine. BTW, MSnS-Extra kicks butt! The rev limiter is exactly what I need in that car.

Thanks to Mar3 and dfwrx7 for the pics. I did feel kind of lonely being the only FD present but after hanging with all my fellow rotorheads I forgot about it pretty quickly. Plus when your as old as I am you forget just about everything anyway. It's that C.R.S. disease. Can't Remember Shi.........!
