DFW RX-7 May 1, 2010 Meet

Yes. Be here at 6pm sharp if you want a tip.

sooo I am going to get paid for my trip out to BFE woot!
Do I have to pick you up 2?
Are there for sure going to be any fd's there this weekend? I'm considering driving down from oklahoma to see some. I own a 350z right now, but plan on getting rid of it and picking up a DD and an fd in a couple months. I would appreciate if someone would be cool enough to let me look @ one of theirs in person. Thanks guys

1-Do you want to end with a small fortune???
Then start with a great fortune and buy and FD.
2- Do you have a trustworthy mechanic/shop near you???
3-Do you have extreme patience and enjoy wasting time finding/solving for problems???
4- Are you a good shade tree mechanic???
5- Is A/C important to you???
6- Do you track your cars???
7- Are you Puerto Rican or Australian???
8- Are you a fan of F&F movie series???
9- Do you play video games and pick the Efini RX7 to drive???
10- Do you believe the 7 can't loose???
If you have answered Yes or NO, any of the questions above, the RX7 is not for you.

Stay with the 350Z, go FI with it and be happy.
BTW, I have had my FD for 11 years and I would not sell it or change it.
If I had to do it all over again, I would do a Porsche GT3 or S2K S/C. so take my word for what it's worth.
Stay away.
With all due respect, I wasnt asking for advice on what to buy. I understand everything your saying. Thats why this is going to be a toy/project car. I will not be relying on this car in any way. I dont plan on it running the majority of the time, and thats ok. This will not be my first car. But thank you for all of your concern. So again,
Will there be any FD's present this weekend? or is this meet going to consist of more of this?

I was being funny/sarcastic, but truthful in my questioning.

So please don't get me wrong, but you are committed to a car, that you haven't even seen before in person???
Can I ask, what is it that you like about the the RX7???
I'm planning to take my FD out for a while but it's not all that special, mostly stock more or less. Nothing like some of those monster FD's running around D/FW.

It is a show quality car.
Thanks Robert, much appreciated. Now if it was half as fast as yours I would be in "rotary heaven". Quite a few really bad as... projects will soon be prowling the streets. Both FC's & FD's.
Back at you and with all due respect also.

I like the FD for many reason. I always have. I come from a Subaru background and sold my wrx for my 350z with the intention of picking up a 2.5rs and doing an sti swap soon after. But going over all the cons I had with my WRX I decided something RWD would suit my needs a little better. I am going to be making this a project/track car. Nothing ***** to the wall serious, but spirited. It is an awesome platform, it suits my style of driving perfectly, and its lightweight. I am WELL AWARE of its annoyances, but hey, any project car is gonna be a pita. Atleast pick something your not gonna might looking at when its broke down right? Hopefully I will make it there this weekend. Thanks
Dustin

Well then, in that case, you got a PM.
Cool, I understand your confusion. I am commited to the car, but I didnt really explain myself in full detail to start. I HAVE seen this car in person. A few times actually. I havent ever been for a ride or driven one though. I just wanted a chance to sit down in one and get a better feel for it. And show the wife lol.

. You won't find many other cars that handle like the FD does (and that's stock, only gets better from there!). Once it's done and ready you can join me and baron on the track
