Unhappy car theft in fort worth...

hey guys
so this morning my room mate woke up at about 8 or so and went to work.
when he left my car was there. i woke up at about 1030 and left with a friend
to go eat at about 11ish. when i got back at about 130 my car was gone. its not an rx7 becaus i sold that a while ago but if anyone can help to keep an eye open i
would apriciate it. its a white civic hatchback with dirty gold mugen rims, b18 gsr, etc.
about $12,000 in engine parts alone. the thing that sucks is this is kind of pointless to post because by tomorow it will be cut up into 100000 diff parts....so if by chance
anyone heres about any parts for sale or anything that could help that would be
great. THANKS ~Jonathan

Oh and get this...i just pulled the motor 1.5 month ago and rebuilt it...about 1,400mi...

Sorry to hear about your Civic. My son's GSR was stolen from Lewisville on a saturday night and recovered in Arlington on sunday. It was totally stripped but he used the insurance money to a Si. His first ungrade was a security system and a club. So far so good.

just don't own a honduh because they are only the most stolen cars in all the insurance most stolen vehicle lists. However if you own an rx7 with fuel cut you will never have this problem anyways sorry to hear about your car it's just going to happen as long as there are ricers out there that get a hard on for honduhs.

All that aftermarket stuff and you don't have it insured?

Lesson learned, I guess!

as for as the towing goes it could have been, but there are more than one ways to skin a cat especially a 92 civic...any civic door under a 98 can be opened with just about any key, or drilled out or pulled out. so... i dont know becaus i always leave it in first gear and pull the E so that you cant (its harder to) move it.

Nearly every high-end auto theft I know of in Houston has either been with a flatbed or with a key. (it's not hard for someone to read your VIN, and get a key cut at the dealer, especially if there is an inside guy working there. ... and heck it only takes about 60 seconds to grab a car on the flat and roll away with it.

Ever since a personal freind had his FD stolen a few years ago, I have tried to keep a close eye on the trends and styles used to boost cars. These are the two most prevelant among repeat offenders.... sure punks steal the occasional ride by other methods but the pros seem to have more efficient methods.

wow, I could actually emagine that happening because really to the untrained eye it looks like someone is just having thier car towed. Anyways It would be kinda hard for anyone to get a key for my car, no more vin on the dash

the thing with getting a key cut is they have pretty much stoped "just make'n keys for any one
with a vin num" now a days. unless you have someone in the "inside". because i remember in
the mid 90s when the acura integra gsr's were really really popular i knew second hand i few
*** holes who used to steel them like that> and the reason they stoped is because you cant
get keys cut like tha any more> so mybe they did but i doubt it

Yup, Thats good ol' Jersey for you........ a few months back a tow company got busted for picking up disabled vehicles on the highway and hauling them to the scrapyard when the price of metal was high. alot of people were figuring there car got impounded and when they contact the police there was no record of there vehicle being taken so the state police setup a trap using a SUV with a tracking device. they let the tow truck pick up the vehicle and followed it to the scrapyard where they busted the driver and arrested the scrapyard owner on drug charges when they searched the property and found the yayo . worse part was it took months of missing vehicle complaints before the police did anything...............

yeah I did the same thing when I found out about people being able to get a key cut at a dealership with just the vin. I also recently noticed that my driverside door lock has been stripped out, looked like someone took a screwdriver to it. Time for a security system.
