Buy RX7 in Austin

Hey guys,

First of all, this is my first post here , yeah...

Second, I'm looking to buy a 3rd gen RX7 in or around Austin, TX. Anyone know anyone selling? Looking on Autotrader, almost everything for sale is up in Dallas. Any suggestions?

Thanks for any advice.

- Andy

That's where you'll find most cars that are highly desirable are gonna be in Dallas.

Why is that? Just a function of it being a bigger city?

Also, what should I be expecting to pay? I realize cost is going to be a combination of a lot of things (miles, year, accidents, etc..) but it seems like prices range everywhere from 10k-20k with most being around 15k. Should I really be expecting to pay NADA guide price, a little more, or a lot more?

10-15 is insane unless it has low miles and is immaculate, I wouldn't pay over 10, I've seen a few here and there for 7-8, but Fd's a re much harder to come by then 2nd and 1st gens. Just be patient and do your homework and you should be able to score something nice for around 8-10, unless it's in unbelievably good shape. be careful out there

10-15 is pretty modest. You'll get a decent FD, but nothing great.

Well that's exactly what I want . Something stock or close to stock in good shape that I can modify and play with.

I've had a TT Supra and an S2k in my past, but since I got a house last year, I sold them and bought an SUV to haul stuff around. Now I'm getting the itch to get another fun car, and preferably something I can modify as time and money allow. Getting another Supra is just too pricey for me, but I think an FD is just the ticket. So anyway, I'm not looking for an HP monster or a showroom candidate, just something that runs and is fun. Heck, even something that doesn't run at a good price would be ok.
