Bad News for Import Drag Racers
No NOPI drag racing in texas this year.
No NHRA Sport compact racing in texas this year.
NOPI dose not even have a single race in the west at all this year.
the NHRA has 3 races in New Jersey, 2 races in Florida and 2 races in Vegas.

No big loss for me. I always found Drag boring anyways. Race down the strip. Wait 1.5 hours, race again, and repeat.
I always found road-course races more fun. Even Autocrosses are slow on the pace.
By the way. Whatever happened to all the RX-7 drag racers? Used to be big news Ari+Steve, Demtrious and all kinds of others around the nation used to dominate their class. I hear nothing about any of them anymore, than again I don't really look for any information on it.

I don't exactly have a race car. I did when I had my 10AE in Colorado, which I used to race all the time! Autocrosses, Ice-races, Road-Races and the occasional street and drag races.
Perhaps one day I will acquire another 7.
Red Line Raceway about 10 miles from where I'm currently at has Red-Neck Domestic 1/8 mile drag racing almost everyday.
But the Maxima is a highway cruiser, not a dragger, and I wouldn't put it on a road race course. I'm not confident enough that the brakes would hold up. Plus it has a lot of body-roll.
With some tweaks it might be ok for a FWD. But it's my daily so I have no future plans to make it into any kind of racing car.
For now, my conquests are limited to Semi-Trucks, SUV's and other's on the Highways and avoiding detection.
Plus, it's not like I can keep up with all of you crazies on your highway cruises. Most of your cars' potential far exceeds what my car can do.
The last time I rolled with you guys I had just moved here and didn't know where you were going and didn't know DFW very well.

the texas events always had a good turn out, and always a good rotary turn out. if you look at the schedules there is only one race in California, and thats where imports are post popular.
course on the flip side the western half of the US has alot more pro drifting events, maybe that has something to do about it

Actually, the Tx event turnout was very weak. This year, I've been fortunate enough to go to both Phoenix and Virginia NDRA NOPI events and there has been THOUSANDS of spectators....lines to get in, parking lots full, etc. TX events in Baytown and Ennis in the past few years have had decent turnout, but nothing like those two events did.
NOW I know why they stopped coming to TX...all economic.
