There is a Houston SCCA Solo on 10/3/2009.... as far as track events there are some things happening this month, but nothing I know of in September.
If your pockets are deep enough you can get track time at any of the tracks in the area pretty much any day of the week. There are 3 tracks within an hour of downtown.

- www.msrhouston.com (Angleton, TX)
- www.grandsportspeedway.com (Hitchcock, TX)
and of course you know www.texasworldspeedway.com (College Station, TX)
Probably would cost a few hundred bucks... give them a call and see what they can offer you.

hey, then maybe you can give me more details about the 600 fee for driving your car on their track. is this fee for a certain amount of laps or is this fee for the day? i looked up the other track grand sports and their prices are a lot more friendly. the track however looks a lil under par compared to the msr track. i am a complete beginner though for driving a car on a track but i do have experience with a motorcycle on a track. grand sports offers one day with 5 20min. sessions for 225 bux. that seems to be a pretty good deal to me. the other reason that i am liking the msr deal is because it is open any day and the day that i could go on grand sports track is the day the texans play jacksonville. i already have tickets to the game and i don't want to miss that either. if you can give me any more details about what comes with the 600 package i would appreciate it. if not i will call leslie for more info when i get a chance.
thanks again, mark

Call Leslie... I think the $600 even gets you an instructor or at least some instructed laps. It's probably a full or half day (unless other people are there).
