I'm moving up there at the end of the summer and just wanted to know how the "scene" is up there? My brother and me are moving in the south Austin area and wanted to know how many members are on here?

There are plenty of driving enthusiasts in Austin, however I would say the "scene" is considerably smaller compared to Houston. RX-7 owners here are pretty loose as a group.

 

Im in S Austin and have 2 rotarys an 85 SE and my brand new to me REPU. My neighbor down the street has a CYM FD but he rarely drives it. I just got my REPU from a really good rotary mechanic that lives like 10 minutes from me. He has a mess of FCs and old school rotarys.

Where are you looking to live on the south side? Quite a few nice and semi affordable homes in my neighborhood. I think there is room on my street for more wankels!

Im near the Y in Oak Hill. Ive seen you making your way to/from work in your Rx8 everyonce in a while. Hey - now we kinda match!

 

i'm from brenham which is about an hr and a half a way. I make my way over to both houston and austin from time to time, but i don't know anyone else with rx7's.

 

well im moving in into the southwestern area of Austin. I have seen one rx7 driving around it was black. Well maybe ill see one driving around again this weekend when i go look at apartments

 

anyone ever make it out to meets or the "Y" on saturday nights or?

 

Im thinking about taking the REPU to the Y this weekend now that I have a both running AND legal rotary. Im also gonna try and make a texasrx meet now too and meet some of the other rotary owners Ive seen driving around town.

Its at the Y in Oak Hill at the old Albertsons parking lot. Seeing as how you probably have no idea WTF Im talking about from Ben White Blvd coming into town follow that until it splits to mopac/loop1 and 290W (to johnson city). Drive ~ 5 miles down 290W and it will split into 290W and 71W. Follow through towards Johnson City and its on your right.

 

Yeah i know where its at. My uncle lives 10mins from that area so yeah I am going to try and make it

 

oh snap, I might have to meet y'all out there, there's another meet over by the Wal-Mart at I35/Ben White but I've never been, it sounds like a lot of street racing and other not so cop friendly stuff goes down there from what I've heard. If you guys are going just post a time, maybe I can round up some other folks to head that way
