Attn. Louisiana Rotorheads: We lost a Great Man Sunday !
I got to meet Mark personally, I went down to the bayou to work on Art's FD. Art told me, Hey Ito, I want you to meet a dear friend of mine, He's a serious rotorhead and has read some of your post online. He went ahead and told me about marks current health situation, and would I be willing to meet up with Mark? I said: Dude let's go!!! At this point Mark could barely speak, But I understood everything he was talking about. First day we sat and talked about all kinds of rotary engine talk, cajun food and how glad he was to meet up with me. He even mention some fights I had online with a few members and we all laughed about it.
In a time span of a week that I was in Louisiana I spend 3 good days with Mark and got to hear some great stories. I could say I was humbled by marks spirit for life. Truly an amazing person.
I send my deepest condolences to Mark's wife and family..

How about a Mark quote of the day....
About two weeks ago I was telling Mark and Cyd that they were truly heroes the way they were living their lives. Mark struggled to answer.... " Life is full of trials and tribulations, misery is optional."
Thank You GOD for this Good Person,
Barry

Barry told me about Mark's quote and it blew me away. The man's spirit to live shines bright through that quote even in his last days.

I just got an PM from "internal comsucktion engine" and just saw this thread...
I am VERY UPSET at myself that I never got a chance to come hang out with Mark in LA. I told him many many times before, promising him that I was going to come down to see him.. I'm sorry Mark!!
I had a great pleasure hanging out with Mark back in 2004. He drove all the way up here to carvan with us Bham guys to Indy for Rotary Revolution... We had many many conversations about rotaries and spent 7+ hours driving on the interstate to INDY. Great guy and has heart of an angel! RIP Mark! And all of us here in Alabama will miss you greatly!

Hey guys.
I just heard the news from email that Mark had passed on. My thoughts and prayers go to him, his friends and family members.
I met him a few years ago at a Birmingham get together. Very, very nice person which lived and breathed his RX7. I know the people in Louisianna are going to miss him and those of us who have met him, feel inspiration on how he lived his life. I feel honored to have met Mark.

My prayers and thoughts go out to him and his wife.. I met Mark and his wife at RR a few years back and right of the back knew he was a hell of a guy. Mark will be missed by all who had the blessing of knowing him. RIP Mark!
So, my fiancee didn't think it was appropriate to roll up to the funeral home in the FD tonight because it's "too loud". The last time I visited with Mark he had told me that the CYM color on the FD was his favorite. I of course was not going to drive anything else tonight. I had to repeat Jaquie's concern to Cyd, to which she laughed and said we needed to be as loud as we could!
There was definitely a lot of love in the room tonight. I thought I was impressed before by the way I saw Mark handle his illness, but that quote of his from Barry just says it all. Wow, what a guy!

Mark, I've only met you once but the impression you left with me will last a life time. Even though you are no longer with us. We will meet again and this time I hope to be as Classy as you were. Best wishes to your family Mark, you still are one hell of a FD Enthusiast...

I'm Dedicating this year's DGRR in memory of Mark White.
I've also decided that the best way to honor Mark would be to make a contribution to ALS research.
I'll be taking donation at the DGRR and will make a donation in memory of Mark.
More info about ALS, goto: https://www.alsa.org
