I just found out that one of my friend and great rotary community member have passed away, this past sunday 1/21/07... Mark White.

I've known Mark since 2003 and he passed away from complication of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

I would like to dedicate this year's DGRR in memory of Mark White!! He has told me many many times to me that he wanted to attend this event.... Your spirit will be with us this year! Rest in peace Mark!!

Oh MAN, I have goose bumps right now.

Mark was such a great, great guy. I met him at the 2004 Rotary Revolution, and got to spend time with him at Gotham when he stopped by the shop for a few days. Great personality, great attitude, great person.

Rest in Peace Mark, I am sad to see you go

Phil, This is one more reason for me to make this year's DGRR.......

 

Man, I am speechless Ive got chill bumps right now, Mark was one of the best, he always had a smile on his face even when he was hurting, I can not believe he's gone. I think we should put something on this years Tee's and see if we can get some of the Seven on the shore guys to come and bring his wife and his car. So he can run the Gap.

 

Phil, that would be an Excellent honor for Mark !!! His wife Cydney and Mark's family would love that gesture in honor of a great man and great rotorhead !!

I was at the wake this evening along with many of his family and rx-7 brothers. His mother and brother actually have read the other thread and his mother was touched to see so many that loved her son Mark.

If you get a chance call Cydney when you have some time and tell her about your idea !

This news is still shocking to me..

I told my wife about Mark last night and she told me that she also thought about him as she was in a seminar about Lou Gehrig's Disease. I told her all about Mark and she also wanted to meet him.

I am definitely going to dedicate this year's DGRR and I will give a speech about Mark at the event. Us Alabama Rotorheads who have met him will miss him dearly!

Grat I idea Phil! For me it would be more of a reason to make DGRR this year!! Make was an amazing man with the heart bigger then all of us combined. The "never give up" attitude just blew my mind and will always motivate me to push foward through all hard endevors I come to face in life.

Phil, Jonathan Bruce aka Internal Comsucktion engine was very close to Mark and helped Mark enjoy his last days with us. Also Barry Bordes (along w/Jonathan) who goes under the screen name "Lynn Bordes" also spent plenty of time with Mark getting him out of the house and into his car for some great road tuning sessions. They are both also very close with Cydney so if there is anything we can do please contact myself or Jonathan or Barry. I'm sure there will be as many Sevens on the Shore members attend the event as possible. Needless to say, Cydney White was one STRONG and DEDICATED woman and we all admire her and her family for their strength and love through this all.

Please let us all know when the Event Shirts are available as we would all love to order a few of those.

I had a pleasure meeting Cydney back in 04 and I have to say, Mark talked very VERY highly of Cydney! And I totally concure with you regarding her being "STRONG and DEDICATED". There are very very few woman like Cydney who support their husband the way she did. I Thank Her for what she have done for Mark.

I've also posted this on the other threads.. But I would like to collect donation for ALS foundation and make donation in memory of Mark. I will collect during DGRR event and details of the donation will be sent to Cydney.

I dont expect all of you to come to DGRR, but would love to have you guys come and say few things about Mark in memory of his joy for the 7!
