Anyone near Tulsa, I need someone to evaluate my FD.

I am selling my car and I was wondering if someone who lives near Tulsa can drive my car and post what they think of it in my for sale thread. I would prefer an FD owner, but anyone who has been on this forum for a long time would work too. The reason why I am asking this is because the car has a salvaged title, and, me being the owner, I am a little biased. I am not going to give you any money for your time, but I will drive to meet you. Good or bad, I just want honesty in whatever you post.

Here is the thread:

Also, if you have a boost gauge that we can use when we drive it, that would help.

Thanks
Dan

Do you have free time to look at the car during the day? Or just on the weekend?

+1 for Tulsa. I got screwed on the first FD I bought. It had a salvage title from a wreck early in its life just like yours. I work bankers hours and I have a boost gauge laying around, but its calibration is off.

Coneklr, are you busy Saturday or Sunday? The car needs to be viewed in the daytime. I will see if I can pick up a boost gauge.

Sorry to hear you got screwed too. When I bought mine, I asked if it had been in an accident, he said no. When he gave me the title to sign, it was face down. The person at the DMV was one the who told me that it was a salvaged title. The salvage date was printed right on the front of the title. It was the first car I bought so I was an amateur.

I didn't know I could at the time, but I probably could have returned it. It was just so much fun to drive.

Yeah, I lucked out. Mine was actually covered by auction insurance since the VIN# was faked.

I can do it Sat morning or Fri night. I have to leave town to find a garage to drop my transmission in over the weekend. Thank God its going to be hot on Sat and Sun.

Yeah Ryan, come over on sat sometime and help me drop my tranny. Are you looking to buy an FD with a salvae title?

Ponca city is a bit of a drive for me to help. I am 20 miles East of Tulsa. What time can I stop by tomorrow?

It's worth anywhere from $7000 to $10. I think your $9500 is fair.

My first FB was an 82 gsl that was reconditioned title. The front in was wiped out and it burned a bit. You could still smell the burnage. But I drove it 80k before it started the smoke.

$9500 might be a bit high if you want to sell it quick.

Coneklr, thanks for your honesty in the review of the car.

I thought the price was fair too, but not priced for a quick sale. I have the ability to wait for the right price because I have owned the car for quite some time. I had an offer on the car already, but I didn't really want to hold the car for 2 to 3 weeks for the guy to pick it up.

ah yes, you are the one with the red and pink fcs. I was practicing on my spare transmission before we dropped mine. I was unable to pull off the main drive (input) bearing. My puller keeps slipping off of the snap ring that I have to pull on. I don't know what I will do. The Mazda puller is $350. I wonder if a regular tranny shop would have the Mazda SST?
