That sucks.. I heard about your job. Same sort of thing happened to me, so I know exactly how you feel. I am working again, but you never know for how long.. That, and two months without work really hurts the pocketbook. I didn't even run in the last NHRA event in dallas because I was afraid of breaking. Oh well, I will be ready for next season. What are you using to tune your car? There are a lot of really cool things out there. So far, once I have started tuning my own car, it has been really reliable. Although I am a wuss when it comes to tuning on the edge of timing, but I like driving my car more than I like rebuilding the motor.

The old school HKS VPC and Fields Fuel Controller. AEM is too much stuff for my taste. I think it is one of the best units out there, but I'm not that serious about it. Maybe in the far far future. Lucent Technologies sucks ***. That is life though, you just got to deal with it.

Yeh.. we do need to race.. it needs to happen. Oh.. my Power FC blew out yesterday.. shorted out due to condensation.. still looking for root cause. I am having to buy a new one damn it. And a dirt clod hit my car while I was driving yesterday and broke my right front headlight cover. Bad day for the RX-7.

Yeh.. I will be soon. The new Power FC will be here tomorrow.. it's just pricy. I had about 800 dollars of stuff I needed to do to the car before I can really push it.. and this sets me back. It sucks. I was kinda pissed.

Yeah, bad week for RX-7's.
I had my aluminum T2 hood fly up several days ago during a test drive. Damn thing is so light the wind just snapped it back at like 25 mph. Couldn't believe it, I WAS PISSED. Apparently I didn't close it well enough. Damn that was stupid.
Well, the ******* hood scoop smacked my windshield and shattered it, as well. So I had to get a new windshield and the T2 hood is all bent the **** up now.

Luckily, I had a steel NA hood that has new paint and matches my car, but its more than twice as heavy as the aluminum hood.

F*cking sucks!

That sucks!! Oh well.. it's a good thing that these cars are cool. If they weren't, they sure wouldn't be worth the effort! My new Power FC is back in the car, and thanks to some time with the laptop, the car is tuned and running good again. Still need to put the headlight cover on it.. that's tonight. Just sets me back a bit from getting my new cllutch plate and axles. Oh well.. That's the price of the toys!

OK City Third Gen Owner here...

Hey all, I live in OK City (well, Tinker AFB to be specific). I drive a Vintage Red 93 R1 around town. I work nights so I don't make it out to 39th much on fridays, but saturdays... I'll probably be there. Perhaps I'll see yas someday.

I try to avoid 39th due to the extra heavy rice content.. but it is funny to see people with mustangs think that I drive another civic or something. They lose. What do you have done to your FD?

Right now it's bone stock except for the lightened flywheel by Tri-Point. I just bought it a short while ago and installed a turbo timer because the turbos were just replaced at 87k miles (91k miles on the car). The engine is just past the 20k mark, as it was replaced at 71k miles.

Anyways, all I got is the lightened flywheel, turbo timer, and I JUST got the '99 spec light conversion done and installed on the car.

I don't even consider the mustang a sports car anymore, they ALWAYS lose to everything.. Don't get me wrong there are some fast ones. But the stock ones in all trim levels just suck ***.

Wow, I have only seen one other white FD in OK. Surprised I haven't ran into to you. Hope to see you on the road someday. What part of town are you from? You probably have a glass moonroof don't you? Did you buy it from some guy that owns a Burger King in MWC?

hey mr ouija, i think weirdo in the vert that waves at you sometimes...just showing the rotary pride a little on tinker.

I know everyone has different tastes, but I really can't understand why everybody is so crazy about the 1/4 mile. I can't picture myself getting THAT amount of enjoyment in driving in a straight line for a few seconds. I think autocross is a WAY bigger rush and takes way more driver skill and at the same time just as much car work as 1/4 mile racing does, jsut different kinds of work.

It seems like a lot of people here are from the okc area and talk about racing but how come nobody ever goes out to remington park? Im new to ok but ive seen soooo few rx7s at remington park. I've only seen 2 fds, one other fc, and one fb. Are you FD guys THAT worried about getting spanked by miatas? Whats the deal? It's safe, controlled racing for $20 and you get to do more than just go threw your gears a few times.

On another seperate note, i agree with the whole 39th ricer thing. I go up there and I just have to laugh at some of the cars. Granted they are probably a lot faster than mine and they've put al ot of time andm oney into them, but it still strikes me as funny to see some of those people up there.
