lol, good luck. There are a few of us in houston with MS, we all hate it pretty badly. If you can afford it, get a power FC instead. Thats the best advice I have comming from a megasquirt guy.
It is possible to get it working and tuned, its just going to be a way bigger headache than if you had a pfc.
If you must keep the megasquirt, go into the MS section of this fourm and start reading... start with the FAQ.

Well im up and running just need help actually tuning tables etc. Im just not wanting to spend 500 for a tuning session. But i want to learn to tune my self. But i dont want to blow up my motor etc. And nobody with a half- bridge turbo wants to share their timing info. Are you guys using knock sensing with megasquirt? Heard it was useless but if it works then using it to help tune would kisk ***. Are any of you guys running halfbridge setups?

my last motor was a 1/3 BP, I pretty much used BDC's timing maps for street port and 1/2 BP and interpolated between them.
I've got those maps at home on my other computer, I'll post them up next week.

[QUOTE=philiptompkins;9380040]There are a few of us in houston with MS, we all hate it pretty badly. QUOTE]

Don't lie Phil, you know you love it!
I've been having better luck with mine ever since I upgraded to the newest MSnS code (MS1 on a v3.0 board). I'm running BDC's street port timing maps on a stock port engine. The fuel map was started from scratch and I've been doing some auto-tuning. It's far from perfect, but I know that with enough time put into it the MS can perform just as well, if not better, than some of the other aftermarket ecu's out there.

Wish you were closer to Houston, I'd love to check out your project. How far along is it? Got any pics? My first car when I turned 16 was a bug. That thing and I had a love/hate relationship...kind of like how it is with RX-7's!

barely off the ground. its going t be a toy for me. i bought a turn key engine and trans out of a 85 gsl-se going to adapt the stock FI components to MS. have not bought the car yet but went shopping yesterday. probably going to make on offer on this 66 bug after pay day. secured some stainless pipe to run my coolant lines. just started this on wednesday so i think i made decent progress for 5 days. i tried to do this project before, bought an 85 gsl and it had a blown 12a in it and i didnt realize how expensive and hard to find the parts were. so i wanted a 13b.

And some 720cc's primaries and trying to get an ignition amplifier too. Hope to have mine running again tomorow evening sometime. Just have to retune the 720's. I want to see a rotary bug.

I know the OP is running a HBP, but just in case someone else runs across this thread I'd like to point out that the map Phil posted is BDC's HBP and is very different compared to a streetport map. I didn't realize just how different they were until Phil posted that map and I compared it to mine. Here is BDC's Extended Port spark adv map that I'm running on my stock port engine. My car is far from tuned, but it does run well.

I think BDC has removed these from his site, I hope he doesn't mind us posting them here.
