I don't know if anyone else caught this, but the Mazda commercial shown during the first few minutes of game 2 of the NBA finals showed a VERY quick glimpse of the new RX-7 right before switching to a top view of a rotary engine. I think the image was up less than a second, but went back and paused it. It is DEFINITELY the same car that a few sites have leaked pics as the new RX-7 - tiny side mirrors and all.

Had I been thinking more clearly, I would have taken a pic, but didn't think about it until much later. I would say watch for the commercial again in Sunday's game. If they show the same one, watch closely after you see a bunch of white cars from a zoom out.

Saw that too, was pretty cool!

 

At 16 seconds it drifts into view. Looks almost Audi like. I'd love to see it in production.

 

That is the new Mazda 6 Concept.

 

As of right now the Shinari is powered by a 2.0L 4 banger so I doubt it'll be rotary
