DFW Paint shops for a full car repaint?

So, my 91 TII is in need of paint...bad. If I took a power washer to it I could strip the whole car to the primer.

So, I drove to three different places for estimates. Every single one of these shops said they don't do whole car repaints. Two said if they did it would be $6000-$7000.

Clearly, that is not an option.

It seems like it's Macco or no paint. I can't spend $6000 on her.

Recommendations?

I live in Denton. I also want to get the engine bay painted with no engine in it of course.

I had great luck with Sunset Body and Paint both in quality of work and price. Located on Illinois near Oak Cliff.

I live in denton too. I will try to remember to ask at work tomorrow. I am sure I can find a good painter near by if I remember to ask around.

Thanks!

I can't believe three shops said they no longer offer full car repaints.

Under 3k...I'm willing to do prep work too keep the labor costs down.

I plan on having the engine out so the engine bay can be sprayed.

Don't know how much you know about this, but for the budget of $3K for what you want, I don't think even Macco can do it.
I took my RX13 for an estimate to repaint the whole car (same color red) and they don't have to paint the hood (is CF), they don't have to paint the engine bay and the body is solid, no rust, no dents, only a few small door dings.
Both were around the same price $6K and $6.5K
I don't think any shop will trust their paint job to someone elses body work and then guarrantee and warranty the paint job. (not doubting your skills).
GL in your search.

Hey, long time no see!

I'd give a strong nod to Stuart's PnB in Dallas

Except that Stuart's is probably way out of his price range but they do due good work.

I'd give Rafi or Jano a call at 4m Auto Body & Paint in Lewisville. They do a lot of racecar repair and paintwork and know how to get paint down cheap but still look presentable.

I would also say try googling such; you might find more of a variety of shops willing to do full paint jobs.

Sunset did my front and rear bumpers for $250. I know they're a bit far for you, but worth checking to see if they can do what you want for your budget. Again, I was very happy with their workmanship.
