Not to take away from the lesbians, but does anyone happen to have that nifty tool for holding the flywheel still while you tighten the flywheen nut, that I can borrow for a minute? I've got the socket and bar, but I need to torque that nut down so I can return it to my poor mechanic friend who's been without it for so long.

I just torqued mine down with a big *** impact wrench and it's held great for 3 years of daily driving. air tools rule good luck finding a flywheel stopper, I couldn't find one either, hence borrowing the impact wrench.

I've got a compressor and a 1/2" impact, but the socket I've got is a 3/4" drive :P O'Reilly wants $60 for a 1/2" to 3/4" adapter. :P

dangit, where were you 3 weeks ago? i was thinking about putting new wheels and tires in my car, but now i already ordered 17x7.5 TSW Kyalami Hyper black with 225/45/17 Nitto Neo Gens. I could've saved some money there (275 compared to 935). Oh well, that's life :P

There was a car show and I wasnt invited?!?

These are the shows I try to go to:
http://www.carsroadshow.com/calendar/events.php
And starting april, the North Texas Mustang Club, has a little g2g show at the crackel barrel in lewisville (every 1st saturday of the month) My plan is I take my car, and Josh takes his RX7, and after that (ends at 8) head straight to the rotary support group meeting. Oh and you gotta love Fun Ford Weekened, and Unique Performancefest. Someday I hope to enter my mustang into the Yellow Rose Classic (even though its not a classic)

Lemme know if you plan on going to any other shows... ...I love making Josh spend hours sitting in the hot TX sun.

I think that it has moved the every 2nd saturday of the month now. Unique Performance can kiss my ***! The 65's should be entered into the Yellow Rose Classic's this year. You shouldnt have a problem getting your car into the car show. I have never been to Fun Ford Weekend... scares me

You don't have to dragrace it and the show's not bad - but it's a whole lot of the same 5 cars in 20 different colors, and probably the most expensive show we participate in. Most shows around here cost less than $20 to enter the car and free to spectate. For that one, they consider your passengers "crew" and it ends up costing $60 or better. :P

This sounds like a setup for a bad April Fool's day joke.

They have it at the Texas Motorplex though, as seen on Pinks!

. . . but that just means that you not only pay $60 to sit by your car all day, you also have to drive an hour and a half to get there.

Usually the people there are real nice - and I can't complain too much, because that's where my Capri won Best in Class (although there were a lot of people who didn't believe it was a Ford product) - I pulled into the paddock and one guy yelled out "We're going to have to see some credentials on that one!" That's ok, my modified Capri was the second most unique thing there, so I might have gotten the Most Unique trophy if someone hadn't brought an old Ford Drag car - that thing was basically a seat bolted to an engine. Looked like something from the old black and white grand prix videos. Just a steering wheel and a hole to sit in.

$35 to enter $35 for crew (even if they dont help out at all.) Spectators have to purchase their tickets on the other side of the strip, and walk all the way back to where the show actually is. Sad thing is, they are suppost to park under the big sign that reads "vendor parking" and the other sides confuseds as to why people want to buy spectator tickets. They even charge children admission. Its a fun show, but its 2 hours from Dallas, and there really isnt anything else there except a drive in. Oh, and there was no award for most unique... ...there was an award for most exotic. Which of course, did not go to a ford import that no one knew what the heck it was... ...it went to a fox body mustang. Yep, thats exotic.

Most other shows are $10, and local. Unique Performancefest was kinda cool, even though it cost $25 to enter. But the money went to charity, and they goody bag alone was probally worth that. Again, the only place that seems to charge admission for spectators is FFW.

I dont know what it is, but my car seems to only win awards in mustang specific shows. You would have thought that with a bigger variety I would have more of a change... ...but put a run of the mill 13 year old v6 next to bullits, saleen, rousches, etc... ...I have a better chance at winning

Oh, and they better not change the rx7 meet... ..I can request one staturday off a month, but two? No way. I finaly found a way I can actually come, and you people try and ruin it for me. I'm starting to think you guy dont like me. Kitty fairy will seek her revenge!!!

The "Good Guys" show and the Auto-Rama both charge admission for spectators, too. But you'll notice we opted not to attend.

And if you ever hear someone say 7:30pm, regardless of who it is - they're joking. Noone gets there at 7:30pm. Noone at all. In fact, if you get there at 7:45pm, you'd better have a good CD with you or something to do.
