That would be me. Do you go to that Chevron a lot. Anyways your car looks great, I was always kinda patial to VR.
I dont drive mine very much it sits in front of my parents house 99% of the time. I am taking down for the winter for some much needed TLC, I think a coolant seal is toast.
I aslo have some projects underway that will benefit the FD community. Think bushings.

I just moved to ABQ on Monday and unloaded the car yesterday.....what track is this you speak of?? drag? Also, I hear that there's an autox this weekend, but don't know if I'm going to go - need to sort some things out with the car. I'd be up for hanging out and meeting some rx7 people in the area though. Let me know if y'all do anything.....or can tell me what to check out around here.

Hey welcome to ABQ! The drag strip I think is what Candy is talkin about. It's located near the airport and Journal Pavillion. Let me know if you need directions. Oh and just in case you haven't heard, there's a rotary shop here in town. It's called Rotary RX. It's a great shop! Many of us in this area on this forum can tell you about it. Go to www.rotaryrx.com and their number is 922-1115. Hopefully you'll be able to meet up with us someday.

hey nic. Welcome to ABQ. I was speaking of the drag strip. You can find more info about it at www.abqdragway.com Its the best abq can do I guess haha. Besides that You'll have to ask fcdorifto about autox events. Also he mentioned our rotary shop in town rotary rx. The owner tom is great and pretty much everybody that goes through there is very friendly. Looks like you have a pretty well modded fd.. I look forward to seeing it! Now that our rx7 group is growing maybe we can meet up more.

As far as that AutoX event, that one is most likely an event being held at the sandia motor speedway. I don't know if that is exactly what it's called. You might wanna look it up. The only other place I can think for an event this weekend would be up in Santa Fe. Most of these events are part of the Rio Grande chapter of the SCCA. http://www.rgrscca.org/. There should be a schedule of the AutoX events in there. Also there's a free autoX in a church parking lot every first Friday every month in ABQ on Juan Tabo going South of Montgomery. I'll post something up about it in the next couple of weeks so we can all hopefully meet up.

I was mistaken about the date - the event is this Sunday at "Santa Fe - Villa Linda" as posted on the Rio Grande SCCA webpage. I want to go, but know I won't do very well at all b/c of a few issues I am trying to work out with the car. I haven't really had time in the past year to really work on it so a lot of little problems have gotten worse, etc, etc, etc.....the car almost needs more loving attention than most of the women I know....and I have been forced to neglect her....a shame. HA...anyways, I will still probably go just b/c I haven't gotten to race period in a very long time.

That sounds awesome about the church autoX as well - I'll have to check that out while I'm here.

About the drag strip - when it says that no car club events are planned, but still lists times for that Friday or Saturday is that considered an open test & tune day or do they even have those??

Candy
- Thanks for the compliment on the car and the job (both are lots of fun when they're going good) I grew up in Dallas where there was/is a very active rx7 community that met up regularly just to goof off and cruise around and stuff. A lot of it sort of crashed and died after that bull fesces TF&TF movie came out, but I still have a lot of good friends from back then so if you could get something like that started in ABQ I'm sure it would pay off and be a good time.
- I'll be sure to check out RotaryRX sometime - do they have a dyno?
- What's an av?

Oh, and does anyone know a place that can repair laptops WELL or sells decent ones for cheap?? The laptop I use for my Haltech went up...won't run windows or connect anymore....boo...and my car is running like crap up at altitude since it was already rich down mountain. I'm sure I have an old map from Colorado to work with, but it's stuck on the computer along with all the others. It's just an old brick running on windows98 (almost everything else is usually incompatable), but I could live with just DOS on it. I can get it to run on DOS, but then it won't recognize the serial port to adjust the Haltech map. I've tried all the unhelpful tricks I know....help?

THANKS

-Nic

I wish our rx7 crew met up all the time that would be awesome. Maybe we can get that started. Usually 1 or 2 people are always over at rotary rx. No they don't have a dyno But the guys at dyno edge on eubank and I25 are really nice. They have a thing called "dyno drags" where you get 3 pulls for 50bucks and you guess your hp on your last pull whoever gets closest wins like 10% or something of the pot. I'll let you know next time they have dyno drags maybe we can go invade the place with rx7's.
As for laptops.. all I can think of is best buy or circut city but they are always a rip off. Maybe you can just reformat your laptop and reinstall everything? Thats what I used to do with my old computer till it finally died on me haha.
Lets see I dont know what it means by "no car club" with the track but pretty much every fri. sat. night is grudge racing or "test n tune".

I might stay in town this weekend, so would have some time to help you out. Win98 (2nd edition) is usually pretty stable. PM me and we'll see what's up. If we really get stuck, we can ask Tommy for his two cents. It worked last time troubleshooting his network. "Try turning the router off and then on". It worked. Duh!

Wink

Bustin' my *** on that $25 mil system conversion that is not going well. Working 90+ hours a week. I'm too old for this ****! I'm supposed to be in my 3rd childhood right now and playing! Working with alot of "short-foreheaded" people who don't get it.

Anyway - will try to get to the shop more and see everyone. Think I have my 66 Bronco half-cab sold. The 10AE starter died, so have to find time to put in another. Want to either build the motor for the 93 FD or put in a REMAN. Either way it is driving me nuts having it sit there. Someone better buy it quick or I'm going to fix it, and then $$$$$$s. It has R2 suspension, dual oil coolers, sunroof, and R1 spoiler. It is NOT a touring model!

Saw you on the freeway a couple of weeks ago, but was on the phone, so couldn't do the side-by-side chat and flirt. Sorry!!!!

Tell the b/f that it'll probably be somewhere around $12-13k. I've got all the parts to fix with exception of engine, but I have a core, if I go reman REW. The turbos are tight...................ck
