Your opinion for my new Turbo to4e

Ok, i'm going to buy a full blown T04E.
The only think I need to do is select which compressor and housing.

What size of compressor? 57 or 60 Trim?

What size turbine ratio? 1.00 P-trim or 1.15 P-trim?

They are both the same price. I"m aiming at 400+ hp at the wrhp.
I also want want low back pressure that why I'm goign to get the p trim.

Would 1.15 give me too much lag? I"m going with the xs engineering divided manifold.

My engine is brand new with only 10k, stock.

What do you guys think?

Run the larger 1.15 A/R and get the tangential divided turbine housing at the same time.&nbsp I think you'll need to get a spacer to get the XS Engineering turbo exhaust manifold and turbo to clear the lower intake manifold, as it was design for the FD3S with it's tighter lower intake manifold.

Good luck!

If you're going for 400rwhp+ then i'd go with the 60 on the compressor end of things and a 1.15 divided on the Exhaust.

Let us know how it turns out!

Really, i'll need a spacer, hmm would turbonetics have that too?

So the xs enginnering is for a FD not FC? How laggy would it be with a 1.15? what rpm would I see boost responce?

Who else makes a divided manifold, that's affordable?

I doubt Turbonetics would have one.&nbsp We cheat - we use a Racing Beat 13B engine flange.

Yep!

You should see almost full boost by 4kRPM - it's not bad for the street.

Cheating is ok. WOuld I need an extra exhaust manifold gasket to go with it or would it seal fine? Are the studs long enought for this?

don't get the to4e 60 trim ... not right for rx7s. Get a to4b 60-1 .... pick your housing. 1.0 good for street and lively ... 1.15 adds more top end. I'm about to prove this myself via dyno real soon.

The difference in the 60 and 57 trim is minuit. He would still get 400rwhp+ with either trim but the guys at PT told me that the 60 trim would reach the surge line way before the 57 trim hence not a good choice for street driving with the RX7. I believe that the 57 trim would allow him earlier boost pressure. Looking at the compressor maps, there isn't much difference between the two except the surge lines.

Amen on that XS manifold. God that was a pain in the *** putting it on my FC. Between that and my tuning they left a very bad taste in my mouth... That spacer, apparently to my amazement, dosent exist. I had two divided T04 spacers fabricated on a flame table using the gasket for a template, still have one if you want it real bad. The manifold dosent come with studs, they are 10x125 for the turbo and I found them at the Toyota dealership, they use them in their sr20 (?) motor. Bring your wallet and get the pinch nuts that fit them. The wastegate studs are 8x125 and I found them at NAPA...

...Actually I just made a post relating to this question, if y'all want to come over and give your 0.02 ~Jeremy

i noticed your are in jersey, there is a shop near philly in pa that makes divided ss tubbular manifolds for to4s. We at lateshift have run a to4e 57 trim and a to4e 60-1 wheel both on street ported motors, and the 57 trim runs out of breath at upper rpms. pics of the toe4 60-1 trim can be found at http://www.lateshiftengineering.com/Products2.htm

price of the to4e 60-1 would be about 700, and the manifold would be about 450, you could pick up or pay shipping if interested. contact chirs at lateshift through the website, and tell him tom sent you

turbo rotor - Your engine is brand new and stock, with 10k miles on it? ~giggles~

Sorry

Just looking at your spec list, are you swapping out the 720cc secondaries for larger items? If you don't, expect a new engine soon

As for the turbo, get the 60 front with P trim 1.15 rear. Don't worry about what the others say about lag. If you race them, they might beat you of the start but you will fly bye top end like they have the hand brake on.
