XS T04S questions????
what times in the 1/4 mile can i expect with a T04S kit from XS? my mods consist of a 3-row greddy i/c, apexi pfc, 1600cc injectors, nippondenso fuel pump and a greddy elbow with type-s BOV. also, this question is kinda dumb but does the XS T04S kit make a good sound as well. i heard the HKS T04R kit makes a great whining noise and that is what i like to hear. so any T04S owners please throw me your 2 cents. thanks,

Perpetual Rebuilder
Low 12's is easy...high 11's doable for most. 10's obviously possible but I dont see my setup getting there anytime soon.
Plus I dont plan on running the 1/4 mile very much so that might make it hard to get a 1/4 time.

XS Power "T04S" turbo's are not anywhere near a real T04S (60-1 wheel with T04S comp. cover).

My XS T04S kit fell apart.
Turbo lost an oil seal and inducer blades were rubbing on the front cover. Manifold developed a crack about 3mm long, front turbo. Cross over pipe to intercooler rusted its milled steel, Down pipe split at the bottom at the flange and weld broke at the o2 sensor. The HKS wastegate is good but I just had to put a new gasket in. I have had no problems from the blow off vavle.
I can not recommend the kit.
The turbo has potential but I now run a turbo with a t04s inducer gt35r exducer.
Good luck
Chris

What I forgot to mention in my rush the other day was the excellent customer service that XS provided to me. This may change your mind.
They took 3 months to rip apart the turbo to tell me the oil seal was blown and the inducer blades were shot. They also said a bearing could be replaced. They then refused to rebuild it and asked if I wanted to pay $850 for a new XS spec T04s turbo with a 2 month delay getting to me. Granted I only put about 4k on the one that blew.
As for the manifold they said it was my fault. They said I did not have adequate cooling in the engine. Anyone wanna explain that one to me.
End result 4 months of downtime over $200 in shipping bills and a turbo in about 30 pieces in a box. Not only that but for some reason they painted my manifold orange.
My downpipe was repaired by a local welder that charged me $50 to fix the holes and several problem areas. The pipe is milled steel (cheap) so it will probably be trash in a few years.
I hope XS reads this because their customer service is right up there with Enron. Thanks for first rate - 5th world quality.

Perhaps not major pieces but if you count bolts its about 30 - the point is they took the entire thing apart.
I went with a "Blowzilla" from cheap turbo.com - its a T04s front side its a gt35r hot side, non BB. Manifold was a custom SS made locally, downpipe was created at a local muffler shop with v clamps. Wastegate and blow off valve are the HKS that came with my XS kit.
