worm clamp on 3AN hose?

s4 T2

I am thinking about putting 3AN hose on all my small vacuum barbs and just clamping them on. Would regular hardware store/autoparts store worm gear clamps be able to securely tighten down on something this small? I know you can get weld-on AN bungs but I want to save money on fittings and nobody is going to see hoses under the UIM anyway. I would be using this for my OMP injector air bleeds, FPR line, and any other stuff like that. Just plain silicone hose is not an option, unless they are Krazy Glued on, which I have seen done. Obviously that makes it a bigger pain to work on though as you would be cutting off lines every time you take off the UIM. My vacuum lines need to be secure up to 25psi.

If there's a barb on the pipe, why not use a ziptie? If you have a small enough screwdriver, you can take those off without worrying about cutting the hose underneath.

zipties simply are not tight enough or reliable enough. my pressure testing has confirmed this.

If you could fit and tap one of these on the intake:

Feed it into a rail with more quick connects and go nuts. I run those style fittings on my AI and run 100++psi

Only draw back is the hose, some of the nylon stuff is stiff. But just a suggestion/thought......

Just a link to variety of different fittings like I posted

Also, FWIW, I've used small hardware store brass barbed fittings ni place of the smooth ones on the intake originally, and using silicone/viton hose and zip ties have had a sucessful pressure test of 35PSI, and ran on the street like that at 25psi (was the highest, usually between 18 an 20)

Fair enough. Those fittings look pretty good though.
