Will I run into compressor surge?
I'm running a 1/2 BP'd S5 TII block with and E6X......
I'm planning on reaching approx. 400whp on pump. No aux. injection. I believe its all the fuel system will handle (750cc P.....1000cc S)
Now, I have another T04-S on order from ATP but.........its backordered indefiently
Here's where I get to the surge question. I can get a T04-R sooner, but we're talking a difference of 61lbs flow vs. 74lbs/min. Will running the T04-R even make sense? I have a feeling that at my power goal the turbo won't even be in its effciency range yet.......or am I wrong?
I searched and found numerous people running the S in and around my power goals so I think I'll just wait it out and stick with the tried and true. But will having the R cause any problems with surge? Will it even be running in its effciency range at that power level?
I don't plan on ever going past that power level, but if 450+ is only a pair of 1600's away I might get tempted.
So - Will the R be too much for my goals? Or will it work?
edit: Almost forgot.......for either turbo I was going to run a divided 1.00 A/R.....

Running a T04R is beter suited for a half bridge then the T04S is. And NO, you wont ever get that turbo into surge. Theres some HUGE turbo's being run on 13b's, none that I know of get into surge (except throttle closing surge). Rotaries have quite thurst for air and fuel.

Great, thanks for the reply.
I was thinking that the 13B was pretty air hungry....just wanted some confirmation that using that turbo at those power levels wouldn't be overkill to the point of having issues.
Thanks
It shall be done
