13BAce, How can I "bore my fuel rail"? And will the 1600's work with the PowerFC with a resister?

I'm going to need injectors for my new single setup, shooting for ~450RWHP.
I have a PowerFC, I'll put my 850's into the primary location by filing using washers, what would be the most cost effective way to put larger injectors in the secondary location?
Thanx!

The easiest way is to go here:

http://www.k2rd.com/Online_Catalog/FD3S/FD3S-index.htm

Pay $220 for the fuel rail and $290 for 2 x 1600cc injectors and put them in the car... you still will need 2 injector connectors and 2 10ohm resistors ($0.20 from Radio Shack).. Just order a 2 injector harness for a HKS AIC (about $20) and cut off the connectors with about 2 inches of wire, solder in the 10 ohm resistors on the + power wire, then cut off the stock injector plugs on the wiring harness and solder the other end of the resistor to the + wire on the stock wiring harness and put heat shrink over the resistor and soldering connection. Then do the same with the ground wire to the ground on the stock wiring harness. (The +power wire is the thick one on the harness and the thin one is the ground..) You will also need to remove the diffuser inserts that sit under the stock injectors on the secondarys for the 1600's to fit, try not to break them while taking them out, you don't want chunks of plastic falling down in to the engine. If you soak it for a little bit with some WD-40 first and use a needle nose pliers...

Sounds hard, but it's really not that difficult...

hey, I thought that the k2rd 1600 injectors were already high impedance injectors?

So why ya wire the 10 ohm resistor?

Nope, they are low inpedance.. The ones I got measured 4.8 and 4.9 ohms, the stock ones measured 14.6 and 14.8 ohms, so you need a 9-10 ohm resistor in the power wire...

O' and Van you could have just called me and asked...

I don't think uplugging the secondary injectors will be a safe way to check it. Just buy a injector pulse monitor from Venom or some other company. If you have a APEX AVC-R boost controller, it has a build-in injector duty cycle monitor. There are two injector signal wires on the ECU, one for the primary injector and one for the secondary injector. Splice the wire to the secondary injector signal wire and you can monitor it all you want without risking blowing that fragile engine.

By clarify, I guess you really mean "add some inaccurate information"?

3rd gen DOES NOT turn on secondaries at a set RPM regardless of load/boost. Max had a stuck secondary injector, and I once forgot to plug mine up after working on the car, and we both found that staging occurs at different RPMS depending on LOAD (and I also found that water or air temp also plays a role).

Also, the 3rd gen 3k hesitation has nothing to do with the secondaries, this is easily demonstrated by the fact the 3k hesitation happens at low load, low load staging of the secondaries is demonstrably at a higher RPM than 3k.

Like I said, this is easy to verify by unplugging the electrical connectors to the 2ndary injectors. There are some other ways to verify it that are safer but this is by far the easiest.
