Who has bought a SINGLE TURBO KIT from Rx7store (FD3S)?

flame suit on LOL

Hello fellow FD owners who here has used or is using the turbo kits from rx7 store? I have searched I have seen a lot of negative things about their kits, But I know they have to make decent kits they been around forever. I have a few questions for members that are using or have used their kit.

1. what kit did you get?

2. how was fitment? How was the quality?

3. How do you like your kit? If you hate your kit why?

4. Did it meet your HP goals? if you have dyno chart would be great

I been buying parts here and there and now my buddy left me hanging and some of the part I bought needs welding "way out of my scope of practice". I can put a pre assembled kit together but welding is not my thing. I sick of watching the 7 just sit there to collect dust.

Personally I would not recommend them, the main name brand parts are just as good as buying from anywhere else but all the pieces that dont specifically have a brand listed in the description are crap.

1. GT35r T4 .82
2. Oil supply line was too long, hoses were cheap, manifold was complete garbage ebay junk with some retarded flange that isnt even a real T4 flange with normal ports, ect. Basically everything except the turbo and wastegate sucked.
3. I had to replace almost everything. The junk manifold actually had wastegate runners so poorly port matched to the main runners that boost control was impossible and an engine was blown during tuning. (The tuner should have been more careful watching for overboosting also, I I take blame for allowing such a piece of garbage to ever go onto my car without more carefully checking it). Also the .82 turbine housing was just plain too small for no reason, switching to a 1.06 lost absolutely no low end or spool.
4. After I replaced half the kit including changing the turbine housing yes, but its not really an rx7store kit anymore. The 3582r chra, compressor housing and tial v44 are the only pieces that remain out of the entire kit.

We have gone with a different manifold since you purchased the kit. This was a few years ago and have had no issues with it since we switched manifolds. Our old manifold was Megan and they were hit or miss.

All of the other parts in our kit are standard stuff. Tial wastegate, Garrett Turbo, SS downpipe etc..

I tried buying a manifold and got the run around for more than a month before I gave up. I can only imagine how much worse it would be trying to buy a full kit. I personally won't spend another dime there, if you'd like to go against the grain along with the negative feedback on this forum, I'd make sure you get pictures of everything you're buying even if he says its ready to go on the shelf.

I bought a used one. As stated above the Manifold was replaced, but now the oil feed and drain are not vertical on a 100%.... You can´t clock it as it hits the manifold flange...

I got an oil feed braided line on their website and it was stupid long... I ended up using it from Boost Selenoid Valve to WG port...

Turbo is OK, WG is Ok, Manifold needs to be improved... The accesories needs to be replaced right away...

Thanks.

Bout the only recent review you'd need if you ask me, countless transactions that end the same way. This happens all the time with Jason & Xavier. Pretty much their M.O

TURBLOWN!!

Can't count how many times Elliot has went out of his way to help me out. He's hooked me up with custom parts including a 12a manifold and 1st gen DP, Also satgeV gt35r, wastegate, coils, injectors, clutch, and a good deal on a used ECM. I'm sure there's more! He had spent hours I'm sure just answering my phone calls and emails. Very supportive and great customer service! That is why I'm going out if my way to make sure everyone knows how happy I am with my "kit". He told me what was most important and was honest enough to tell me where I could save money buying elsewhere or used!! If I ever get enough money I plan to buy a fuel pump and new adaptronic from him. Also plan to have him tune my car if I can ever afford it .
Forgot to mention the setup built full boost right where he said and quality was top notch!!

Thanks again Elliot!! Hopefully I'll be contacting u this spring for some tuning B4 baby gets here

Please, for your own benefit at least shoot him an email with your goals.

i have also done business with elliot and have nothing buy good things to say about him and Turblown/Turbosource. i bought a EFR turbo from turbosource for a good price, and also a shorty EFR internal wastegate style FD manifold from turblown and it was great stuff.

also, his turbo kits are very nice. expensive, but very nice.

I purchased a T04z Garrett turbo kit in 2009, since then i have changed everything except the turbo and downpipe. manifold is crap, i guess that has finally changed recently? i don't want to run them down, but I wasnt planning on replacing the manifold, and other parts from a new kit. I had to have a machinist work on the t4 flange, and mill it at an angle so the turbo housing would not hit the LIM. He wanted to mill more but there want enough material left, turbo could not be bolted to the manifold because it was just too tight to the intake. replaced the manifold and got car running went to the dyno, had problems with the synapse synchronic 50mm wastegate holding boost, then increasing boost, then not closing at all and dumping boost....and then the oil return line melted out(was not touching turbo or manifold).

I don't have a lot of positive about the turbo kit, but i have bought from them since and I'm sure i will again, i bought the extreme fuel system and the magnaflow midpipe and that stuff works great and i have had no problems with those parts.

If the manifold and gate are different now thats good for people looking these days, but I'm bummed i I've spent almost 2 grand upgrading parts after initially buying the kit.

Sounds like you had the old manifold. That was the main reason I switched because some had issues with the flange warping. The synapse wastegate is not a bad wastegate but is confusing to setup. I have since switched to the Tial 44mm.

Lets get this straight I have not worked for Jason since 2008, I never owned any part of the rx7store just worked there. People must think that I own part of the business, because I did 90 percent of the work.

Rx7store hasn't had a service shop since 2008, he works out of his house and I think he contracts out work to defined auto werks, those manifolds are ebay with re-work wastgate flanges

here you go!

I'm not knocking anything just stating what I know from working there, as usual you always show up. I'm not going to go with this crap with you again so I'm done with your posts, you keep claiming I own part of rx7store so I just need to correct you again.
