On the exhaust side of the turbo I have here the outlet is 4" across OD. Where can I get a clamp and flange for this? I know you don't just weld onto it...at least I would hope not. Any ideas on where to obtain these would be a great help. This is a Garrett T04E turbo.

Dunno on the rest of it, but for clamps I just visit my neighborhood store, Big River Rubber and Gasket. If you got something like that around you... At this place I have sen clmaps that fit around my waist

 

I think this is a special clamp....sometimes referred to as a V-Band clamp. Its more like a compression fitting type of thing I am pretty sure. Its the actual thing that holds a downpipe onto the t04e.

Odd occurance tonight. I found both the flange and clamp at a trucking garage. Seems mid size trucks use the same size outlets for exhaust on their turbo diesels. At least that was cheap on the pocket...like 25 worth of parts and I am all set.

BUT where do you get a 3.5" - 4" Down Pipe ??
(3.5" ID -3.75" ID would be perrrrrrrrfect)

I'm looking for one to go with my T51 R KAI Single Turbo

You buy the stainless or steel from anywhere that sells pipe and have it custom bent and welded. Usually to find someone that bends that large you will need to find a place that does exhausts for larger trucks. I am working in a coal trucking garage with the guys son. Thats where we do all our upgrades so its easy to find the larger parts and machinists.

It isn't as pretty, but you can also buy prebent Mandrel bent U's and cut and weld them together. This also will ensure that you have the 3.5" pipe's area that you paid for. And not some crimped 3.5" bends that have the area of 2.5" pipe. I have made several exhauts this way, all it takes is a 110v mig welder, a metal cutting chop saw, or sawzall, and time.
