when is it time to do this?
i'm in the middle of replacing my motor and adding the gt35/40 kit. i got some advice that i will have to upgrade my differential and axels, and worry about the ppf when it breaks. i was just wondering, when do you get to the point that you have to consider doing these mods? i'm already doing urethane mounts and the torque brace, but will that be enough(around town)? i dont plan on dragging on slicks anytime soon, so will i be ok until i decide to do that? these are just things i never thought about when planning the project. i'm glad someone brought it up though. by the way, where is the best place for urethane motor mounts? thanks.
you should be good around town.. especially with the engine torque brace. But if you do any hard launchs or quick hard shifts.. you will need some of those things soon.. I would sugest the diff first.. and see if you can have a tranny brace made. Also solid diff mounts are easy to install and are fairly cheap.
The only time will will run into a problem with your diff or axles is if you are drag racing on slicks or if you experience wheel hop. Your stock drive train will last forever if you are using the car for street use.
