S4 n/a rotors
T04S, actually w/ the 9.4 rotors the R might get you there.

I have pretty much the same power goals on a 9.4cr Stock port S5 block. I have a 1.15 a/r garret t4 housing that came with a TO4B I doubt I will use. I will most likely go with a BNR stage 3 or 4 since I already have the comp housing, exhaust wheel and s5 turbo. Unless you already have an external wg, downpipe and manifold a hybrid is about the only way you will realistically achieve your goals with that budget.

Stage 3's typically hit 320-350 whp fairly easily at relatively low boost levels (13-16 psi).
The biggest complaint I've seen about the stage 4 bnr's is lag which should also be mitigated by running her comp rotors. High comp rotors will also able to that power at lower boost pressures which means means at 15 psi, it should be right about where you need to be. Then of course there is water injection which I would probably bring online around 8 psi, and could raise the boost ceiling to 18 psi? maybe more?

My BNR3 With P trim wheel is for sale. The budget price is for the turbo alone.
I have already decided to stick with the s5 turbo rotors. The hybrid thing is not for me. Unless you fab up an external wastegate your in for some headaches. Im done with it.

But the to4s is not a bad choice. Ill keep that as an option. Ive seen those for about 850$

If it has a Ptrim wheel, wouldn't it be a 4? What problems did you experience due to a lack of an external WG?

Well, if that's just the turbo budget then what about a holset HX35-HX40? or Borg Warner S series? the 366 seems a bit large for your goals, but that seems to be a popular choice around here.

Yes its 3/4 BNR. BNRs are well... useless in my opinion. It was a huge waste of my time and money. You will not be able to control boost unless you fab up an external WG.

MY boost on the dyno was 8psi by 5k rpms and from 5-8k rpms it rose to 16-20 psi. SUperlag, boost creep, inconsistant boost = a recipe for disaster. Specially when the tuner was a moron.

This turbo is atleast 30% responsible for my last engine failure. If we had been able to start tuning at 10psi or 13psi atleast... instead of 17-20 i might still have an engine. Only one other way to avoid boost problems.. choke the exhaust and intake and im not willing to do that.

Its time for a real turbo system.

Ive been looking at some turbos and have an idea at what i should be looking at.
Considering the turbine wheel on the factory turbo is bigger than the compressor side.
Im looking to have the same characteristics on a mid sized turbo.

Here are some turbos that are as big on the hot side as the cold side.

to4e p tims.
gt3776
t04s
t04b 62-1.

or a-spec made a gt3574? but i think its a bit big for my goals..

Sorry to here about all the problems you had w/ that incompetent tuner. Did you ever get any power figures while running the BNR? was it a 60-1 wheel or the H-trim? 8psi by 5k.....what kind of boost control were you using?

Turblown seems to have had good success with the to4e.
My buddy here in town recently put down around 350whp on a to4s w/ a VERY conservative tune on low boost.
Another friend down in Sarasota runs a 62-1 in a enlarged to4b housing and just made around 400hp on a BDC tune. I know he was below 20psi , around 17 I think.

So it seems like these are all good choices.

Holset HX35 would probably be a good idea, you'll have money left over.

@ sharingan: MY engine made 356 whp with 300+ tq.(forgot, remember it was impressive though). IM sure its a 60-1 with p trim turbine wheel(clipped). This was at 16- 17 psi. not sure what rpm it made it at though.

I think i found the turbo i want.

http://www.agpturbo.com/borg-warner-...-800-hp-turbo/

part number# 177272. Its the smallest they offer in s300's.

Anyone car to tell me what i cant make at 15psi with this turbo?
