What turbo to use on a N/A FC?
Ok, this probably has been covered a few times, but I just have to bring it up because I feel like my head's going to explode trying to get all this worked out...
I'll start by describing my current engine setup:
Series 5 (9.7:1 compression) rotors, with Street-Ported Turbo II rotor housings, 3mm apex seals, Apex'i intake, 8mm spark plug wires w/ NGK plugs, high pressure oil pump (I'm running about 110psi, I don't know what's stock), and am going to be porting the intake maifold and removing the (non-functioning) 6-port sleeves and most of the emissions garbage before I do anything else. I haven't had my car on a dyno yet, so I don't know how much power i'm running; I assume it's somewhere in the neighborhood of 200-220hp.
Now for what I want:
A fast-spooling turbo capable of producing 7-10psi through an intercooler. Preferably one that I can mount to a TII manifold. What kind of turbo should I use?
I realize that there is going to be A LOT of custom fabrication and that I'm going to have to upgrade my fuel system...can anyone give me advice on what to do to the fuel system? I was thinking that I could get a S-AFC or similar and bigger injectors and a fuel pump from an FD and be Ok. I'm less concerned with gas mileage than I am with reliability here. Thank you in advance,
Stephen
