What turbo to run?

I would like to know what turbo and manifold would give me 300-350HP on pump gas and at 7PSi, be quick spooling, and be somewhat affordable (between $500-2000) for my FC? My goal is to spend about $1500-2000 on the rebuild/or buy a new engine, for my car and whatever it takes to turbo it, intercool it, blow off valve, boost controller, and possibly street-port it, maybe.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks

J

Your figures are not making any sense......use the search feature, you will find a lot of info to help you in your setup.

Okay then, I just searched and from what everyone says, a 60-1 turbo can be had for about 1000 and under, the HKS Cast manifold is perfectly fine or the XS Engineering one, and an HKS, Tial, or other wastegate.

Now the question is what brand of 60-1: Turbonetics, XS Engineering, are there others?what?
Divided XS manifold or HKS non-divided?
Depending on manifold, which wastegate?

How much power do you think it will pull at about 7-12psi? On a motor with stock ports? Do you think that 2mm apex seals will hold the power it puts out?

My goal is to spend about $1500-2000 ON THE REBUILD OR BUY A NEW ENGINE, for my car AND WHATEVER IT TAKES to turbo it, intercool it, blow off valve, boost controller, and possibly street-port it, maybe.

Thanks again, Sorry for the not making sense,

J

I guess lifeguards aren't good at math or planning a single turbo upgrade.

It will cost you at least 2000 for a rebuild. That is assuming you can pick the engine and put it back in yourself. This does not include a port or any other oil/rotor/e-shaft mods.

Then for the necessary mods to handle a single it will cost you in upwards of, hell I can't even give you a guess on that. All right, maybe I can, in the 5,000 to 10,000 dollar range. Five thousand as a bare minimum and if you have connections and can do it without labor costs.

Then your single turbo kit from XS or someone who makes a turbonetics kit like www.rotaryextreme.com. They go for at least 2,800.

So that comes out to roughly 10,000 dollars. But, as you said, you will do whatever it takes. There you go, that is what it will take, without labor costs.

And given your very weird take on math and a complete devoid of information concerning a potential single turbo upgrade I would not suggest putting together a single turbo kit or working on your car yourself. In fact, why don't you fiddle with the potential of the twin setup you already have. It can make really good power. Sometimes more than those that go single.

Correction:

My prices were for FD, that makes the figure reduce to...well, I'm not sure if it really reduces. I think those prices are pretty accurate, except for the labor on a single conversion is more for an FD. FC owners do not have to convert.

Well, in light of that error. I would go with BNR upgrades that use a TO4B turbo. It will put you into the correct range of horsepower. With everything costing you around 6,000 dollars (www.rx7store.net prices of course). This also does not include labor. Are you still going for it? If you went with a T04S or T60-1 kit it would be around the same as an FD. You could not utilize your engine management with a piggyback fuel controller; you would have to go with a stand-alone.
