ASE_Joe NP anytime , my dad has been buying gun parts from that town for over 10 years as well, must run in the family

Anthony, I used the Eagle 11mm leads and I love them compared to the Top Gun ****. The resistance per lead is 97 to 99 Ohms and the build quality and retention to the coils and plugs is first class.

AJC13B, man the car is like driving on ice ! we video some acceleration stuff tonight, and will endevour to transfer it so I can put it on the net, if I get stuck I will send you the tape and you can do it for me ? My 2 friends were in their car and I did a third gear "burnout" as I tried to pass past them at full power , not sure on the quality as I have not seen the tape and my mate was telling me it was very hard to focus the camera as it all happened so fast, anyway I let him drive the car on his own to see what he thought of the power (he owns a 460bhp 1st gen 13B engine prepared by me). His verdict ? He called me a **** ! Because he now wants to spend more money to make his car perform the same....LOL, nice, you look out for a mate, and he calls you names .

I am going to get traction control, the car is undrivable (read: fast in acceleration) the way it is when set up for circuit racing, I have no doubt that I could get it to "hook up" but it would ruin my cornering ability totally.
P.s. You are a fucken maniac running 20psi, I tried it and it did not help much, though I am a lot lighter than you?

Final summary, have done around 30 full power 3rd gear runs and still cannot wipe the smile from my face, no problem so far bare the excessive wheel spin while running 1.4bar/20.3psi boost. On 1bar traction is good...so if I cannot afford the traction control, then I will just lower the boost I suppose next time I am out on the circuit.

Bro, I have been fortunate enough to go in a Ferrari F40 and they with and engine and gearbox hanging out back and with 345 wide tires struggle to put down the power at 60 to 70mph with 478bhp (at the engine).

The company I am thinking about getting the traction control unit from installed one on a F40 because of the same problems I am faced with now, the Ferrari has been tuned to 600BHP and the guy who had it installed has no more problems with grip at all.

This is the way I will go as well, It is just too hard to control the power on street tires "regardless of width" in a 1070kg (all up weight) car. If the suspension was tunned for drags and I ran warmed slicks there would not be much problem transfering an honest 600bhp in that weight car.

I run 400+ Wheel HP with a completely stock ignition, coil, ignitor... and an E6K, 9's at all plugs. But I only run 15 psi.... I believe that to run more boost, I may need more spark.

RICE, I can't believe you are only running on 205's!!! Even when I was still running twin turbos, it was dangerous in 1st and 2nd gears on 245's. My 275's seem to be a perfect match for my car now... doesn't break loose unexpectedly.

Hey Rice

I finally installed my T72 w/Qtrim wheel and was
real dissapointed in the lag. 5500 RPM hit and was ready to go back to my To4xx when I read your ignition
****. I put on the bosch coils on trailing and then I put
on 2 MSD HVC pros on the leading with ngk 11.5's and
HOLY ****!!!! It rips. The car is fun to drive again on the street, spools about 1000rpm higher and throttle response is great. I am breaking in the motor so I havent gone above 19psi yet, but I only rum 118oct
and will run 26 psi* when broken in and I already know
what is going to happen. A ******* Missle!!!!!! THX

I am making more HP than most of you and don't use any kind of CDI system and have had zero ignition break up. Waste of money if you are making under 500rwhp. If I wanted to up the power I would have to go to a CDI based system for sure.

the guys from XS recommends a B&M Newvolt ignition amplifier, HKS iridium plugs 10.5 and 11.5 and MSD spark plug wires. I overlooked the ignition part of my single turbo setup which is why I was only able to dyno at 10psi

Yes I developed some pics of the install but still need to scan them.

Just a reliability and long term test update: I have been running with this set up now for 7 months and have been very impressed with it, no reliability issues have shown their head (i have been using the car as my daily driver, and have clocked over 12000km since the install)
The only "problem" I have noticed is HEAVY plug wear on the leading plugs ! The spark intensity and multi striking realy wears the crap out of the ground and center electrode, so much so that I have to rotated the tralings and leadings twice and regap them each time to get full plug life before I do my oil change (every 5000km) at which point there is realy no plug electrodes left and they need to be changed.

But overall I am very happy with the upgrade, and would recommend the Crane units from my experience thus far

Rice did you ever get any pics of your ignition system? I am getting ready to get mine back together and I got your part #s but was hoping for some pics. Can you help me out here? Maybe just a drawing with all the wire locations would help. If I understand your setup you are firing the leading coils with one Hi6 each, but on the trailing you are using a bosh transistor igniter to fire two coils.
Could I set mine up to run the same leading setup as you but us a CDI on the trailing that would fire both trailing plugs?
How about the MSD digital 6? I think there is a 2 and 4 channel. Which would I need and what coils would you use on the trailing?
I am running a Haltek E6K and would like to get the most power possible from my setup.

Steve
