I was in the same boat with a 17x9 and a 275. I would toss the Proxes T-1's and run Nitto DR's, Kumho V70A's, or RA-1's. You be suprised at the difference in traction going to an R compound tire.

PS - would like to investigate RaceLogic traction control, but then you lose the fun factor kicking out the rear.....
