I'm upgrading my turbo and Don Marvel suggested a 60-1 hi/fi p. wheel .81 tangental exhaust housing. What exactly does that mean?

I've pulled up the maps on the turbonetics 60-1, 62-1, and T64 and it looks to me that the 60-1 is good for about 350 hp at 10.3 psi which is in the middle of the sweet spot. The 62-1 puts out about 375 at 11.76 psi in the middle and then the T64 puts out 400 or so at 14psi but can handle more boost and good for over 500 hp at higher pressures.

What the spool up on these turbos? Is there a factor I'm not considering? The rotors will be new 93's with 9 to 1 compression using 3mm seals.

I'm thinking the 62-1 would get me where I want to be power and psi wise but is it any good?

The 60-1 HiFi has a smaller inlet/outlet (2.75"/2") than the standard 60-1(4"/2.5"). It flows about 10 % less than the 60-1.

There isn't too much difference between the 60-1 and the 62-1. 62-1 is a bit more efficient at higher boost.

Don't know to much about the T64, haven't heard of it being used on 7's...

So many people make tons of power with the TO4B/E 60-1. Its a great all-round choice. But you could go with the 62-1 for a bit more top end...

*edit * oops with the 90%, lol

THe hi-fi doesn't flow 90% less, it flows about 10% less, or 90% of a full 60-1. Brian Cain put out 425rwhp on a 60-1 hifi ~ 14psi and a COLD intake charge.
