What Fuel Pump, Regulator and Lines to Use?

In the next two weeks or so I will be putting in a Extended streetported engine. I will be running a microtech lt8, 1600cc and 850cc injectors, with a t66 Ballbearing turbo with 1.15 AR.

My Question is which pump do you guys use. I have been looking in summit and am not sure which pump I will need to support my engine. Also will I need to run a 2 port or 4 port fuel regulator. Which Brands do you guys suggest. And finally which fuel lines and fittings should I use. And will I need to run a fuel cell or is there a way to attach the wider lines to the stock tank.

Thanx

Edan

I was thinking of just running a one pump. I don't see why it would be necessary to run two pumps.

I disagree, for a T66 that pump is too small as are the -6 lines. The SR Ultimate is supposed to be a great fuel pump if you only want one, and I would run -8AN lines with an SX regulator.

Thanx MJW..

How many ports should the regulator be 2 or 4. And does anybody know approcimately what gallons per hour of fuel the pump should put out. In SUMMIT they rate some pumps for 1000 horses, but that is on a piston engine. So will it still work for a 500 rwhp rotary.

Check out this link:

Max also has a great fuel calculator on there that is very useful. You only need a 2 port regulator, two feed lines in and one return to the tank. I run one major feed line from my fuel pump and then split it into two lines (one for each fuel rail) and run them both to the regulator separately as well. I am sure some of the Summit pumps can get the job done too, I think the Apexi BNR/SR pump is favored because it is easy to install.. not positive since I don't have one.

How much boost do you plan to run? sounds like a wild ride.

I have heard that -6 will support plenty of fuel to support 450+hp. Also, what size outlet is on the tank?

Yes that was my next question. How are you guys running these -8AN lines off the tank. Did you have someone weld -8AN fittings to the tank. Or are you guys running fuel cells. And if you are running fuel cells which ones and how much do they cost. And do they mount in the stock location or in the trunk.

MJW I plan to probably top out around 25 psi. But thats at the track with racing gas. I will probably to to tune it for 20psi as the top end for the street and 15 for daily driver.

Personally I run two walbros through the stock feed and return lines(like running 2 x -6an) and I use the charcoal cannister line as the return and I plumbed a -6 bulkhead fitting through the top of my fuel pump cover.

I tunned an FD running 2 x GTR pumps through the stock fuel lines to the tune of 460rwhp at 1.05 kilo of boost. He also uses a aeromotive fpr to bring the pressure down.

I also tunned a bridge ported FC that made around 500rwhp but he was running out of fuel because the stock lines were restricting flow. He was using a 300lph Tomei GTR fuel pump.

I think the stock line is good up to around 500rwhp if you want to go over and want to stay cheap, go my route.
