Exclamation What does it cost?

Okay guys I really need some good estimates and numbers here from you single turbo guys. What would it cost to have a stock RX-7 be turned into a singl turbo that is al set to go. I mean everythign here.....suspension mods it will need, reliability mods, the turbo kit itself, cost of installation for all this, clutch...ya know all it would need to run well and be set to go. I know there are all different sizes of turbos and prices vary greately but everyones personal experience in this matte woul be greatly appreciated.

Well, it all depends on the kind of parts you pick, but the work alone, if you get rebuild + porting etc.. will easily be in 5 digits if you are looking for good work + quality parts.

i statred to add up my costs a few days ago. i am at $6k and counting. this is not including my motor. this is just turbo system, fuel system, EMS...
i am doing all the work myself. i am guessing that when i am done the way i want it it will be close to $7 1/2.

It will be alot and could easily excede 10k, especially when you're paying someone for install work and tuning and any sort of problems that the tuner didn't think was going to come up. Go ahead and ask Vosko how much he's spent(I believe it was well in the 5 figures)...

Ok do some calculations..

Turbo kit = 3k Not including installation(And that's getting a deal on a small turbo or you may be able to find someone willing to put you a turbo kit together for less)
Intercooler = 1k Not including installation
EMS + tuning = 2k easily (A good EMS like Haltech, other EMS's would probably cost more)
Motor Rebuild/R&R and porting = At least 5k

You're already up to 11k+ there and there is still more missing. You still need a clutch, probably a new flywheel pending how bad yours is scored, aluminum radiator if you want to do it right, aluminum ast, block off plates, mid-pipe, cat-back, Mazdaspeed PPF again if you want to do it right with no worrys, etc.. Oh and don't forget bigger injectors and a bigger fuel pump.

I don't care how much a tuner is your friend, unless he owes you a favor you're still going to pay something for his labor. And labor can be the most expensive part.

Another 1.5k for suspension, $500 for rotors, pads, etc, also will need rims & tires, there is another $2k, those stocker 225's ain't gonna pack enough rubber for your single turbo application.

To do it RIGHT from stock, $15 - $20k, I'm already WAY over that $20k figure spent on my car...

there is no leaving things out, 15k is just a start. You have to do evevy bolt on there is to do it right( you have to do it right). You will also blow motors, brake axcels, and also have fender benders. After everything is done over years of hard work add all that **** up, and then my friend, you will say" what the ****".. labor is not cheap and there are somethings that you will have to pay labor on.. fixn 7s up ant cheap .. and also through in the dyno tunning to tune that nice $1250. ecu
