I am currently building my T78 RX7 right now. This is my list, you can change parts for other parts but more or less this is a list of all the **** you need.

Apex'i PFC
Greddy T78 Turbo Kit
Blitz FMIC
Aeromotive A1000 Fuel Pump
Custom Primary Rail with 756cc injectors
Custom Secondary Rail with 1680cc injectors
SX FPR
All SS lines -8AN feed and -6AN return
HKS Twin Power Ignition
Midpipe
Blitz Exhaust

other than that these parts are handy as well....

New Ported Motor
BOP Kit
Clutch/Flywheel
Diff
PPF
Axles
Radiator
AST
and the list goes on.....

I have spent roughly $10k on the parts needed and then you could spend another $10k on motor/tranny/rear end parts.

It gets expensive real fast....have fun.

Do you have to have all of the tranny work. How much hp can the stock tranny and rear end handle.

I have a stock tranny with a lightweight flywheel and 4 puck clutch. I am planning on upgrading my rear end next with a new Diff and some better toe links and trailing arms. Then maybe some new axles and some upgraded input/ouput splines for my tranny.

The rear ends are different from car to car, it seems that some people can put alot of power down on the stock rear end but I would say that after 400-450rwhp that it's time for preventative replacement. The trannies are good but some people have problems breaking the input plines mostly while others run there stock trannies well into the 10's. I guess it depends on how hard you drive your car. Vosko needs to chime in, he has broken all sorts of **** with his T78.

What do you think i should do for a great daily driveable setup. Should i go single, just not that big of a turbo, or just get as much as i can out of the stock twins?
Thanks

The stock twins can get you into the 11's. You will still need the fuel system (maybe not as large), EMS, ful exhaust, intake, clutch, flywheel, intercooler, etc... it's just up to you. I hated the twins and all the vacumn hoses and such, a single just simplifies the engine bay so much more. For a good fast street car I went T78 but for a little less lag and a little less power the XS kits are prtty nice or the GT3540 but I think it costs too much. Sorry about my sig posting on every post, I can't make it stop. I am going to go delete it now.

Much better. The Apex'i kit is supposed to spool up nicely but it doesn't create enough power I think. BNR builds upgraded twins that are putting down some really nice numbers.

That is one of the reasons i was wanting to get a single, it would get rid of all of those vaccum lines and ****. I wanted the t78 because of the price. What's the best ems to use. Thanks for your help.

I went Apex'i PFC, it is easy as hell to install and with the FC Commander and Datalogit program you have all the tuning capabilities that you could need and the Commander gives you basic access to your tuning as well as giving you up to 8 different gauge readouts on it. Alot of people run the Haltech though. I don't know much about it other than it is probably the most tuneable EMS you can get but it also is a bitch to install if you don't know what you are doing. The AEM is new and not to many people have it yet. Then there are the smaller companies but I would go with either Haltech or PFC.

I am installing my t-78 right now as well..(as lane_change knows)...
I have the PFC for the EMS as well, You don't *need* a dyno to tune it but you do need to understand what the ECU does and how it adjusts fuel and ignition under different conditions (RPM, Pressure, water temp, air temp...etc) It seems the best way to get the car tuned is to take the car to someone who has experience and a dyno. But with lots of research and patience you can figure out a decent INJ map and then tune from there.
Datalogit is the way to go...definitly allows more options and you get to see more of what goes on...i.e. you can't see the base map of the PFC without the datalogit software.

My 4 puck is fine for street use, I have never had any problems with it.
