What is Break Boosting

I've done the search and couldn't find anything. I've heard the term mentioned, but I'm not exactly sure what it is, how you do it or what its supposed to be good for? Any help?

Thanks.

Brake boosting is done when you race from a roll. Lets just say you're doing a 40mph race... What you do is brake with your left foot as you accelerate with your right, thus making your engine spool up the turbo but you're not gaining speed. I've done it many times when I've race from a roll, I can see about 10-12psi and just sitting there at a constant speed, once that third honk goes you let off the brake and you take off!!!

It works very well though.

Right click and save as. This is a video of IndyKid's supra brake boosting (i think he said he can make 20 psi before he lets off the brake).

Never would work for me, when the boost would start climbing it would push the car forward and accelerate. I even did it so hard once that I had to get my rotors resurfaced. I just decided I'd start planting my foot down at the 2nd honk so it would be going by the 3rd
