A friend who has the Profec B has overboosting in winter, might be his setup.

My Blitz DSBC type R runs the same boost between summer and winter, 100F to 50F here in Houston.

I did discover that taking my pressure source from after the IC instead of from the turbo outlet results is better and smoother boost control. Have not tried it after after the throttle even though I have seen this in some installation diagrams.

To reduce pressure pulsations and even up the boost readings to what the map sensor sees, I take my boost reading from the almost adjacent nipple to the map sensor nipple.

Rich, you should try and set it to normal mode instead of the Overboost mode and post your findings!!!

And Untill i can get my hands on the Blitz Unit, I guess I will stick with the good all Profec-B since its easy to use and works well with 2 solenoids...

I will also hook up the lines on mine like in the diagram I posted above, since that seems like a good setup with vacuum presence for the side of the wastegate!!!:/

Rich,

Did you try and run the Profec on Normal External Wastegate Mode Yet??? Insted of the Overboost Mode!!!

You should be the test Dummy and try it...report to see if the boost builds faster!!!

I haven't even driven my FD in over a month, which sucks. The roads here are covered in salt and it's been too damn cold. I plan to change the dip switch positions, along with about 75 other things I need to do to her to get her ready for some road race action in 2007

I'm not a big fan of AEM electronics. I've seen enough problems with their ignition amp and ecu to stay away.

For the 'IN' nipple on the solenoid, run a line to a boost/pressure source (I used a 1/8npt nipple on the pipe right off my compressor) and T that with a line to the side of the wg. For the 'OUT' nipple on the solenoid, run a line to the top of the wg.

In this larger version of my current sig picture, you can see the boost/vac source I used, the solenoid is tucked in by the ABS in the pass rear corner of the engine bay. You can't see the wg lines, they are both s/s and run from the solenoid down to the wg. I used some monster zip ties to snug the lines on the subframe to keep them away from the manifold runners.

Maybe this is what I'm doing wrong...the side of the wastegate on my install is going to vacuum of the intake manifold.

I see that you install a "T" from the side of your wastegate to the pressure/boost source of the turbo compressure. IS THIS CORRECT?

The 'IN' nipple on the boost controller solenoid, the side port on the wastegate, and the boost source (right off the compressor) are all connected via a 'T', yes.

I hate to stray off topic a bit more, but I didn't know AEM had problems with their ECUs. I know the issues with their cdi, but I have two friends running AEM with no issues so any input would be great. Although their cars don't seem to enjoy temperature variances.

on topic, as far as MBCs go, I really like my Hallman rx-pro. Right now I don't have any reason to adjust boost other than its current setting of ~15psi. I think for 80 dollars you can't really go wrong.

i would go with the apexi AVC-R. Mainly because of traction issues you tend to get with RWD powered cars especially if you are running increase boost. The function of setting boost by gears or by rpm will obviously help you to gain some traction of the line.
